Nick Welsh has written, played and produced with artists like Bad Manners, Busters Allstars, The Selecter, Selecter Acoustic, Prince Buster, Dave Barker, Rhoda Dakar, King Hammond, Longsy D, Laurel Aitken, Judge Dread & Rico Rodriguez. He collabarated with singer/songwriter Jennie Matthias (Belle Stars) in the band Big 5 who released 3 CD's In the 90's, and with Longsy D on the hit single "This is ska". Nick is the singer/ songwriter/ producer in the band Skaville UK (named after the song he wrote that Bad Manners released as a single in 1989).They have released two CD's the debut "1973" and the follow up "Decadent!" both on the Moon Ska World label. He has written music that has been used for T.V. ( Peep Show, The Osbournes, Malcolm in the Middle,Cash in the attic, Child of our time, High school date, Stunt junkies, Gay,Straight or Taken, LA Ink, Date My Mom, Desperate Housewives, Ugly Betty, Pimp My Ride), Computer games (Smackdown versus Raw 2006, Day of Reckoning 2) and the Big screen (Domino, The Magic Roundabout). In 2002 Nick won a Grammy award for his work on the Lee "Scratch" Perry album "Jamaican ET" and was the MD on the live DVD "The Ultimate Alien". Nick has just recorded a new CD "The Soho Sessions". The CD is a mixture of new songs and re-workings of some of his older material stripped down with most of the tracks featuring just Voice & Guitar. Once again the disc is released on the Moon Ska World label. Nick is no stranger to the acoustic world having recorded albums with Selecter Acoustic ("Unplugged for the Rudeboy generation" & "Requiem for a Black soul") Rhoda Dakar ("Cleaning in another womans kitchen") & 3 men & Black ("Acoustic") who featured J.J Burnel (The Stranglers), Jake Burns (S.L.F), Bruce Foxton (The Jam) & Pauline Black (The Selecter). 2009 will see Nick starting his own label N.1. Records. the first release will be "Back to the garage" by Rhoda Dakar & Nick Welsh described as 'a dirty lowdown garage rock & roll punk glam album!' Also in the pipeline are a third Skaville UK CD "Devil Beat", And a new Acoustic CD from Nick "Parallel Road".

Goodbye Piccadilly reminds me of The Who - You've told a great story through excellent lyrics and beautiful music. If this is the standard of the new album we are all in for a big treat. Love it mate.

Hey Nick,
Loving the new album "Back To The Garage" Highlights on the album are the very haunting "This War Will Never Cease", The Glam Rock "Big White Lies" and The Punky "(Girl) I'm Loosing My Grip".
But the best track has to be " Let Me Go" which I still say is one of the best songs I have ever heard...I have been playing the album all week and love every bit of it...oh yeah, I love the pistol effect when John Wyane is mentioned!!!

Hello Nick!!! Loving the new songs I really was quite touched somehow by Goodbye Piccadilly, I have been there dressed in my bowling shoes and parka, walking around thinking...Wow that's where The Special AKA filmed the Bright Lights video!!! One Step foward describes someone we all must know...and The new version of Sign Of The Times is really good, What a partnership!!! See you soon...Oh yeah, bye the way...do you ever rest? Thought not...I'm glad, Just keep going forward...OK

Hi nick, two great new songs.again it,s hard to pick a favourite as your material is always first class and a real pleasure to listen to them.two steps forward is a great song.its the reason i rate you so highly as a song writer/singer.also loved jens stripped down version of the classic bellestars track, sign of the times.

Hi Nick, listening to the two brilliant new tracks has certainly eased the pain of our relegation crisis. Powerful songs, brilliant vocal, the lads here could definitely take a leaf out of your book. Cheers from all at West Brom.
