Suspected of Ventriloquism (Autumn 2008). 9 tracks.
It is going to be released in some form or other next year after the final sessions are recorded and the mixing complete. I have much to say about this project but that will have to wait.
In the meantime I hope you enjoy these tasters from my two previous forays into shed music, they were more than adequate fertilizer for where I stand now. The new piece is far more expansive and features a killer band of musicians and artists from around the myspace realm. namely:
Dean Harvey on a multitude of sins - www.myspace.com/barbamoreno
Phil Howling on keys of varying forms - www.myspace.com/barbamoreno
Andy Shallcross on bass - www.myspace.com/theorderoftheblackguard
Alex Howard on electric guitar
Nathan McGahern on drums and shaky things - www.shellsuit.co.uk
Andrew Taylor on a variety - http://www.myspace.com/andrewtaylor1
Matt Gent on graphics - www.myspace.com/theorderoftheblackguard
You're going to like it.
I am proud to also be playing a part in the new Barba Moreno album, written and produced by the great Dean Harvey. I have graciously been allowed to sing some background vocals and I can assure you that the finished record will be simply wonderful.
It has also been a joy to be singing for The Earlies on some new demos. I'm not sure where it's going but if any of it sees the light of day it should be a cracker.
Every so often I dive into the Future Underground vaults and add some lyrical and vocal desperation to their madness. Real food for the soul.
It was my pleasure to have helped out a bit with some vocal arrangements for The Foster Kids' debut album. That was a great learning experience for me and I had tremendous fun with what are fabulous songs.
Gypsy's Kiss is a one-off recording I did with my long-time musical compadre Pete McNicholl from The Gardenelles (for whom I have recently done some mastering). It's the merest whiff of the kind of ditties we created every night at University. For me, these are some of the most interesting musical moments of my life.
All these artists are in my top friends and should be checked out when you have a moment.

Hello Nick, a brilliantly beautiful blessing in every way that's what you've brought to my life with your music. I hope you are well. I enjoy autumn, it is a fabulous time. The walking is great, the snows haven't really started to descend then, The air is fresh and the clouds dance in the sky...Have a lovely week ! I wish you have your feet on the ground, your heart in the stars and clarity in your mind. With a breath of joy, Heidi
I really like the Gypsy's Kiss material. Nice mix of different guitar styles. Usually it's your vocals which grab the listener's attention, so it's a good opportunity to clearly hear your equally unique fretwork in a different context.
COME AND JOIN US AT THE SPA PAVILION FELIXSTOWE FOR THE SOUNDWAVES "ULTIMATE BANDS CONTEST '09"!! WE STILL HAVE SOME PLACES AVAILABLE FOR BANDS TO ENTRY TOO!!

just read your last comment, like the rough music thing, I can think of one or two people I'd like to bang pots and pans at ;D you should have a listen to Kontiki Suite, they were playing at the charity gig last weekend, bloomin marvellous xx
Ok, about Rough Music. In old English times (I can't remember the era and can't be bothered to go upstairs to find it in m' book), when a village was upset about an individual's behaviour, finding their behaviour insulting or derogotory to a liked member of society, or the society as a whole, the community would gather to make rough music outside their home. A couple of typical examples: if a man took a mistress despite being married and then paraded around with her in such a devil may care way that it was an insult to his wife; or if a landlord was consistently treating a tennant unfairly, the community (usually whilst communing in their local pub) would have a discussion about who the particular person was not being fair and something needed to be done etc. The next step would be for the group to march towards the wrongdoer's home, grabbing whatever was at hand (pots and pans etc.) in order to express their dissatisfaction about the wrongdoer's recent actions. This would usually take the form of lots of banging of pots and pans and shouting, aiming to wake and shame the wrongdoer into correct action and appropriate pennance, essentially saying 'C'mon man, you're taking the piss... you can't behave like that!' This socially responsible racket was termed Rough Music and could be expressed as in 'Bob's gone too far, he'll be in for some rough music soon enough!' History lesson over, but I'm sure you can see the context from your post on my blog. Much love...
I'll happily send you the 1/2 set of lyrics I have but feel sure that, should you want to, you could write a suitably robust song for such a theme.
A while back you said you liked my music so i just wanted to do a little bit of shameless promotion! I have a new album out now on itunes (UK, US, Canada, and Japan), Rhapsody, Napster, IMVU, Shockhound and Amie Street!!
Hey Nick, Thank you, glad you liked our set, and thank you for taking the time to add us on here :) If you get a spare minute we would really appreciate it if you could check out our website and leave us a comment on our guestbook on there :) Many thanks and hope to see you again in the future!!!!!!
Hello Nick, just passing by to thank you for making such great music, your music makes my day easier to get through. I..m wishing you a days filled with treasures visible to the eyes ~but most of all to your heart ~ and may the new week unfold sweet surprises for you .....Sunshine Greetings, Heidi
I kind of had it in my head that you and Dean maybe might want to perform your colloborations(?) but that was only my imagination, no pressure or anything. If it had crossed your mind then the offer is there. I'm in a self imposed performing retirement myself (almost) but Cinema City asked me to play again and it's such a nice place to play that I had to accept!
