*All Time Low*
They're absolutely amazing. Their catchy hooks have me dancing in my car all the time. Not to mention their live show. That is something to be reckoned with. With so much energy and tons of laughs, it's always an exciting expierience to see them again. Plus, they're some of the cutest boys I've ever seen.
*McFly*
What am I supposed to say about these four boys? They're absolutely adorable and English. What more could you ask for when they're also bringing melodic pop-rock with their big blue eyes and dimpled smiles? Nothing. They're simply amazing and if you havn't already checked them out, you need to.
*Locksley*
The first time I ever even heard of these boys was when they were opening for Hanson. The band before them sucked balls, so I said they had one song to impress me. Instead of impressing me, they blew me away. They were amazing beyond words. I even came up with a new phrase for them, "12 kinds of awesome and a jar of peanut butter". A bit reminicent of the Beatles, they're stuff is always fun and upbeat and can totally make you smile.
*Hanson*
I honestly do not know where to start telling you how much I love these boys. I've loved them since their "MMMbop" days when I was a stupid nine year old and 10 years later, after having finally seen them live, I still love them. They've grown and gotten better with every album, yet it always makes me feel like they've taken a snapshot of my life and written a song about it. They help out good causes and have gorgeous families and are totally down to earth. You need to give these boys another chance if you've written them off because of that silly little song they wrote when they were 11. People grow up.
*Avril Lavigne*
So, I know already I'm going to get a lot of flak for having her as one of my favorite "bands", but I really love her. I've loved her ever since Sk8er Boi and I probably always will. Yes, her new stuff isn't the old stuff, but I'm glad. If she kept churning out the same stuff album after album, I wouldn't like her half as much. I'm proud to say that I'm an Avril fan and if you don't like it, tough.
*We The Kings*
These boys are so totally adorable and have such awesome songs that it makes up for the lead singer's apparent lack of a hairbrush. They're just four young kids producing some really simply good rock songs that make you want to sing along and I just know they're about to blow up in everyone's faces. Do yourself a favor and get into them now, so you can get prepared for the explosion.
*The Matches*
I totally stumbled upon these boys by accident. Way back in May of 2005, in order to gear up for my very first Warped Tour, I bought the 2004 DVD. I didn't pay much attention if I had no idea who was playing, but these boys caught my eye. It took only one song and I had fallen in love. Two more songs of theirs were on the DVD and convinced me I needed their c.d. The first time they came to my area, I was so mad because my mom wouldn't let me go just 'cause I happened to be throwing up a little. When they came again, you bet I was there and then again at 2007's Warped, when they finally stayed on tour all the way to the east coast. I was over the moon when I found out that they're joining a couple of my other favorite bands on this year's AP's Bands You Should Know Tour. I can't wait to see them again. Four boys from California you definantly need to check out.
*The Academy Is...*
If you're in the market teeny-tiny boys with killer hips and awesome songs, look no further than The Academy Is... They're amazing live, bringing each song to vibrant life. I don't know what to say to make you listen to them, because I can't really descibe just how their music makes me feel. So, in closing, William Beckett.
*Blink-182 / Angels&Airwaves / +44*
How do I say this without sounding completely awkward? I have no earthly idea. I will tell you the truth, I got into Blink after they split up and only because I was about to go see +44. I hated AVA when MTV was constantly playing that stupid Adventure song. Somehow, all three have become staples in my music life. It's a bit wierd, but I think Blink had to end and I think two amazing bands came out of it. That's all I'm going to say, because I'm a bit worried about saying the wrong thing.
*Panic At The Disco*
Gosh, it feels so wrong to be writing their name without that stupid exclamation point. It was awkward when I first started typing out their name, but now it's wierd to not have to do it. Well, people change, I guess band names do to. At least, their not going for unpronounceable symbols, right? Anyway, back to the point. I know it's so scene now to love these four boys from Vegas, while at the same time acting like they're completely overrated. It sorta pisses me off that people are like that. Can't you just admit that they actually have some really great music that is excellent for dancing to? I don't know about you, but I find it hard to sit still when a song of theirs starts playing. I just have to dance. You should maybe get in on the action. It's never too late.
*Taylor Swift*
When I say I grew up on country, I mean it. Up until I was almost 10 years old, it's really the only kind of music I knew. It's what my mom liked, so it's what she brought me up on. Once I started finding my own taste in music, I let country music shift to the back burner. It's made mini-comebacks, but it's thanks to this girl and her stupid little song that my love for the genre has flaired back into life. I'm so grateful that my cousin has learned to find stuff on her own and located this girl. She's amazing and if you haven't already you need to hear "Our Song".
