Things I love; my wife, two boys and baby girl. Things I like; Stephen King, Ronnie Barker, Russ Meyer, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Top Gear, The Mighty Boosh, Viz, Scorsese/Gangster movies, England Rugby, VW/Audi cars, Fish’n’Chips with a wally, old Fender basses, Adidas and Puma trainers, being at home.
Musically, in no particular order, these are some of the bassists that have helped, inspired and influenced me - some are mates, some I’ve never met, but they’re all superb:
John Mole RIP, Paul Turner (Jamiroquai/Annie Lennox), Bernard Edwards (Chic), Dave Peacock (Chas’n’Dave), Louis Johnson (Brothers Johnson), Neil Corcoran (Mother Earth), Larry Graham (Sly&The Family Stone), Joseph ’Lucky’ Scott (Curtis Mayfield), James Jamerson (Motown/Funk Brothers), Flea (The Red Hot Chilli Peppers), Wayne ’Skips’ Ellis (Limehouse Lizzy), Nathaniel Phillips (Pleasure), John Entwistle (The Who), Anthony Jackson (O’Jays, Chaka Khan etc), Norman Watt-Roy (The Blockheads), George Porter Jnr (The Meters), John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin), Aaron Mills (Cameo), Duck Dunn (Stax/Atlantic), Nathan Watts (Stevie Wonder)...and Stevie too!
And Leo Fender, of course.

Thanks for checking my page!
About me; an art college, Safeways, HSBC and Quantity Surveying dropout, I spent many fun years at the Bass Centre in Wapping before leaving full-time retail in 2003 to play more bass.
Since then I’ve worked with some great people; DIRTY VEGAS during 2003/4, recording on their second album ’One’ and also performing for them live, including album launches, instores and two BBC radio sessions from Maida Vale including Pete Tong’s Essential Selection show.
From 2004 to 2006 I was a member of RONAN KEATING’s band, playing in the UK and Europe in front of crowds of up to 100,000 people, doing live TV, album launch and regular festival gigs aswell as single promotions on Top Of The Pops, Parkinson, CdUK and so on.
In Summer 2007 I was on tour with rock legend BONNIE TYLER, depping for Mr Ed Poole, which was brilliant.
Usually I can be found pounding my four string in the multi-faceted function band CARWASH - we play all over the world, often getting out of hand but always having a fantastic laugh. The guys and girls in the band are great....many of whom are featured below in ’my friends’.
I’m also involved with ANGEL:A, a rockin’ originals project fronted by the fantastic Angela Brooks (nee Morrell) - check out ANGEL:A link below.
I also write articles for music gear magazines, work freelance for the musical instrument distribution company House Music and occasionally do guest lectures at the ACM in Guildford spreading the word of bass.
Gear-wise, I’m endorsed by Ashdown Engineering amplification, Elites strings and Ernie Ball/Musicman basses............but I still love my old Fenders!
