Sounds Like
The tracks I've put up are a sort of cross section of what I'm working on at the moment.
'Slow March' is an example of my solo guitar stuff; very mellow, melodic music that is simple, but heartfelt.
'Song for the Departed' - Dedicated to the memory of Darren Jones.
'The Grounds Sounds' is a sample of - you guessed it - the sound of The Ground. Featuring Greg Lavell, Mike Story, Nick Martyn and Lachlan Maclean.
'Daichovo Horo' - a traditional Bulgarian tune, arranged and performed by Yggdrasil.
'Children's Song 6' - a composition by Chick Corea, performed in a duo with Greg Lavell. This is one from the archives!
'Neo Senoi' - another old tune but one I dug out recently, it has it's moments... featuring Warren Walker, Mike Story and Aaron Mc Cullough.
I'm planning to rotate the tunes on my page semi-regularly so make sure you pop in again to hear some other stuff!
Musician making my way in the wide world. Trying to find a balance between generating the unabridged creative output of my soul and playing the games we have to so we can function in society.
Composer, improviser, session guitarist, music teacher, friend and brother. I love music that touches that sense of profound mystery, through a heartfelt improvisation, a groove that's deep in the pocket, a perfectly simple melody, a band where the sum is more than the parts...
My own music is a melting pot of influences. Jazz sensibilities overall with an emphasis on improvisation, but I'm getting more and more into instrumental folk music from around the world, which heavily influences my latest project, Yggdrasil.
And now of course the proud father of a beautiful baby girl :)
