Only a few years ago, Nicola Cairncross was applying for 12-14k per year secretarial jobs and couldn't pay the rent at the end of the month.
Her life had a massive turnaround due to a well-timed mentor (the amazing Bennie Gray from the Space Organisation) and a book falling off a shelf in the Oxford St branch of Books Etc.
That book was "7 Habits Of Highly Effective People" by Steven Covey.
Phew! Is that one great book! She devoured it - and did all the exercises - before moving onto other greats such as "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" by Robert Kiyosaki, "The E-Myth Revisited" by Michael Gerber and other life changing tomes.
This was her real education you see, because although bright.......
Nicola came out of school with only two skills:
1. the ability to read and a love of books
2. the ability to type
3. the ability to talk her way out of trouble
OK, that's three.
Proves you don't have to be able to add up (at least without a calculator which hadn't been invented when NC was at school) to be Europe's leading wealth coach eh?
Nicola caused a sensation when she spoke at the Annual Conference of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and started her talk by telling them she only had Grade 3 CSE maths.
But she captured their attention big time by pointing out that she had put a 1 coin on each of their chairs and asking them if they knew how to turn that 1 into a million pounds in just 18 years?
None of them did know! So she showed them.
And then went on to tell them her story......
From a standing start of financial clueless-ness............
Nicola has started and still leads a six figure coaching company The Money Gym, and previously bought and sold a boutique hotel in Sussex (no money down)called The Acacia.
But more importantly, she drops off and picks her kids up from school, only does business with people she likes and has a LOAD of fun on a daily basis.
