Connie Kolb joins me on the audio at floydmusic.com
My Postcards From Floyd CD features two tracks with lead guitar from Atticus Stovall who is among my friends here on myspace.
Currently joining me is Walt Flythe on lead guitar and flutes.
I'm always seeking performance and recording opportunities as well as like minded musicians to work with. It's been great to meet so many like minded people in Floyd! I LOVE living in Floyd!
Geographically I'm primarily looking to work musically along the Eastern Seaboard local to my home in Virginia.
I do travel a bit to North Carolina, South Carolina, as far north as Pennsylvania, by way of West Virginia... and as far south as Georgia, Alabama, and Florida.

Myself...
And people say I sound a lot like Joni Mitchell, especially when I cover her songs. Although when I do Bonnie Raitt songs they say I sound like Bonnie Raitt. I've also been compared to Loreena McKennitt and Michelle Shocked whose songs I love to perform. Some of my original material has been compared favorably to Enya also.
I cover songs by many of the artists listed in my influences and am writing more and more originals.
I'm Nicole Cooley Woodruff, also known by my childhood nickname of Nico (pronounced NEE-ko)
I've played in several bands over the years including KIVA (as Nicole Cooley) for 10 years and also as a guest with Tribe of Spirit.
I have also worked with members of the bands Iona, Green Crown, and The Bardo Brothers.
In New Orleans in the late 1980s I played music in the New Orleans French Quarter both as a busker and in "The Old Artist's Cafe" and was sometimes called "Joni Junior" due to frequent renditions of Joni Mitchell songs.
I perform at a myriad of venues including festivals, Renaissance fairs, coffee shops, and wedding receptions.
In summer of 2004 I moved to Floyd, VA. I've been enjoying playing solo in local venues, as well as, meeting and collaborating with other musicians in the Shenandoah Valley including Walt Flythe on lead guitar and flutes.
I was voted "Best of Floyd County Virginia! The Floyd Press readers' choice 2006 Music/Entertainment." (You may recognize Floyd, VA as being the home of Floydfest.)
Every year I sing in the Stone People's Choir at Four Quarters Interfaith Sanctuary.
My current independent CD release is titled "Postcards From Floyd."
I have several new recording projects in the works including a new independent CD.
I performed and made a live recording with KIVA on Saturday, August 8, 2009 which was KIVA's 20th Anniversary Reunion Concert at the Unitarian Church in Silver Spring, MD.
KIVA is also planning to feature my original song Sea Called on their next album!
See my sonicbids page linked here for more information.

Happy Halloween or Samhain (pronounced Sah-ween). which means “summer’s end”
it is an ancient, pre-Christian Celtic festivals of the dead. Also celibrated in other customes such as "Day of the Dead" or Dia De Los Muertos
As a feast of the dead, this was the one night when the dead could, if they wished, return to the land of the living, to celebrate with their family, tribe, or clan. Extra places were set at the table and food set out for any who had died that year
just wanted to say how luvly it was to meet you and how much i enjoyed hearing your songs and you sharing your light. take care and blessings for a blissful remainder of the summer days and rays :)
