From the day she could talk, twenty four year old Nicole Lequerica has been sharing her melodic and multifaceted vocal talents to various audiences of all genres. This emerging vocalist and songwriter grew up in Wayne, New Jersey, where she was involved and recognized in numerous state and national competitions and featured performances. This led her to perform and receive soloist achievement awards from a variety of organizations such as NJPAC. Nicole has recently graduated from the prestigious jazz music program of William Paterson University. There she has studied alongside renowned talents such as Mulgrew Miller, Nancy Marano, Rich De Rosa, Clark Terry, Steve LaSpina, Chico Mendoza, Marcus McLaurine, Janet Reeves, Harold Mabern, and the late James Williams. She has performed at various venues in the tri-state area such as NYC’s legendary Latin club, The Copa Cabana, winning a best Latina vocalist award, a guest soloist at New York’s infamous Rainbow Room, and a part of the great vocalist series at Sweet Rhythm. She has also been featured as the opening act for many Jazz legends, such as Joe Lovano, Clark Terry, and Kevin Mahogany at the distinguished WPU Jazz Room Series. Nicole has also performed at a diverse range of settings from intimate Jazz and Soul clubs, to larger theaters in areas worldwide such as Puerto Rico, her family's native island. She has recently performed with internationally renowned artist Danny Rivera in NYC, and most recently worked with Paul Simon on a concert production of the broadway play "The Capeman", debuting at Brooklyn Academy of Music. Nicole continues to passionately pursue her music career and perform music that transcends any genre, uniting the sounds of Jazz, R&B, Soul, and Latin music, to create an ultimate musical experience touching every listener.
