Nicole’s musical journey began in 2000 when she joined a girl group called Forte. Formed by her first vocal coach, Justin Taylor, this dynamic group of four local girls was Nicole’s first glimpse of her destiny. After learning songs and choreography for a forty-five minute show, Nicole and Forte were thrown onto stages all over Salt Lake City. For a year they toured Utah and eventually landed a spot as a Radio Disney Jam Band. Forte recorded radio spots, TV commercials, and performed at all the local Disney events. In 2002, Nicole and Forte were invited to perform during the Winter Olympics held in Salt Lake City.
After gaining experience and confidence in her new found talent, Nicole started singing wherever she could; in church, the mall, fund raiser events, parties, fairs, baseball games, etc. She also began entering talent shows, where she placed first and second in the Utah Talent Competition (2001 and 2004). After the competition, she was approached by a bandleader who was looking for a lead singer. From 2003-2004, Nicole became the leading lady for the funky disco/R&B band ‘The Right Amount’. The band played all over Salt Lake City and it gave Nicole the opportunity to spread her wings as a Solo Singer. She enjoyed it so much that she began seeking out opportunities to record professionally.
In December 2004, Nicole was introduced to Andrew Lane, they recorded three original songs in just a few days and have been working together ever since. Some of her influences include Michael Jackson, Chaka Kahn, SOS Band, A Taste of Honey, Rose Royce, Janet Jackson, Stevie Wonder, and the musical productions of Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. Nicole’s vision of her music was unique and came to life over the past year. Her ability to collaborate and write really made this experience unforgettable. She put her heart and soul into this album and she hopes
that her music will be able to touch the lives of those who are listening…

Poem 162 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse (please see my blog): TEES TO TYNE: FIRST IMPRESSIONS - SUMMER 2001
Where traditions are not so rare; Sea, country and works scent the air; A multitude of monuments, Planted tubs and patterned pavements.
The longish pedestrian malls; The remnants of defensive walls; Historic buildings are a gauge Of the respect for heritage.
Wheat, rape and pines in the fields; Estuaries guarded by shields; Long sandy beaches and wide scenes; Romantic-ruin go-betweens.
Rivers in parts licked by trees, Or fringed by boat clubs, wharfs, gantries, And crossed by practical delights - Varied spans, forming pleasing sights.
Fine churches headed at Durham; Football kits ad infinitum; Kept castles - one for study; Masonry behind masonry.
And, with moulding-works out that way, It’s somewhere for a longer stay..?
