Literally, everything I have ever heard. I grew up in Detroit and we had the best Rock and Motown stations and then when I moved to Cali. it was all about Neil Young and The Dead. I Love Ricki Lee Jones, Chantal Kreviazuk, Aerosmith, Mr North, Ted Nugent, Thin Lizzy.... don't get me started...seriously!
Sounds Like
A million different things but I can't put my finger in it, I mean on it...
Growing up In Detroit, Nicole Sutton was inundated with sounds of Motown and Classic Rock which truly became the back-drop to her life. Her hands on musical experience started with violin at age 6 which introduced her to the classical genre and reading and writing music. It also taught her how to be a part of something greater than herself. In 1987 it was time for Nicole to leave Detroit and with experience playing a variety of different instruments, she was now ready to continue her musical journey. After relocating to Southern Ca. she got her first guitar. Songwriting and guitar were almost one and the same for her. After performing her first original song at age 13, her instructors eagerly asked if she had any more material and she did. By the time she graduated high school and moved up to Lake Tahoe, she began cutting her teeth performing original music in clubs and developing her own vocal style. There was something very unique about her that was yet to be discovered. In 1999 she moved to the San Francisco Bay Area where she met fellow musician and future husband Mark McGee. Mark, who is known for his work with Gregg Allman and Vicious Rumors, would prove to be her musical counterbalance. While Nicole had worked in recording studios in the past, this is where her body of work would begin. It was time to take everything she had learned and make it a living, breathing entity and once again be part of something greater than herself. Nicole and Mark formed Luvplanet in 2001. After nearly a year of rehearsals with musicians Stu Hamm and Jeff Campitelli it was clear that the next step was to record the debut cd, "Luvplanet", released in 2003. Stu and Jeff's commitments with Joe Satriani left Nicole and Mark in need of a permanent rhythm section and in 2004 they recruited bass player Tommy Sisco and drummer Scott McKenzie. Luvplanet has developed a signature sound of soul-shaking music with an intricate blend of rich vocals, soaring guitars and a solid, fluid foundation of bass and drums. After many live performances throughout California, Luvplanet began recording their follow-up cd, State of Mind which was released in 2005. With many more live shows and an increasing fan base, the newest cd Lucky One was released in Feb. 2008. There's no shortage of inspiration for these four and the band will be back in the studio in March of 2009 to begin recording their fourth release. The next phase for Luvplanet will include extensive touring to bring their music to people around the country and the world. The live experience is an important part of this bands message. It's always been about the magical experience between the band, the listener, and how one drives the other.
