After spending almost a decade living, working and playing Music in Taipei/Taiwan and making a new start back in his native Germany as multi-instrumentalist (on guitar, double bass, mandolin, blues harp and vocals) for American singer Marybeth D’Amico, Niels finally fulfilled his longstanding ambition to put together a classic singer-songwriter solo-act. Today, accompanying himself on guitar and the occasional blues-harp, Niels performs his own sometimes quiet, sometimes energetic, but always expressive and powerful songs that are influenced by such musical genres as folk, country, blues, rock and funk. Over the years, Niels’ repertoire has developed into an authentic, passionate and vibrant Americana experience which roots in the tradition of hand-made acoustic folk music, yet is clearly contemporary.

About Niels:
[…] With his debut EP “Seed, Creed & Generation”, Niels Cremer enters the ranks of the classic storytellers who traditionally see their roots in folk, country or blues within the wider genre of Americana music, and who often season it all with just a touch of rock. Niels himself quotes the great Lyle Lovett as an influence, but to me, Cremer’s handwriting on this EP is more reminiscent of John Hiatt or even Crosby Stills & Nash […] Niels Cremer understands his trade, knows how to craft and compose a coherent and convincing song (Our Barn and The Early Train e.g. are promising examples) and plays an excellent acoustic guitar […] Without reservation, one may refer to Cremer as a multi-talented artist. "Real cool sound and a very nice job of songwriting."

"Good stuff […] nice playing, writing and good voice too, […] it’s very authentic "Americana."
Gary Earl, LA, producer

"The accompaniment of multi-instrumentalist Niels Cremer fit perfectly. Whether he is playing guitar, mandolin, upright bass or harmonica - the former blues musician shows himself to great advantage in all of the songs. The harmonies of the duo are also a strong point." (Landsberger Tagblatt, July 2007 on a duo performance with Marybeth D'Amico)

"The formal announcement was 'A Performance by Marybeth D'Amico, accompanied by Niels Cremer'. That however does not do justice to Niels Cremer's performance, who was clearly on a par with his duet-partner during yesterday's house concert. The teamwork of Cremer and D'Amico ensured a memorable evening with relaxed guitar music." (House concert, Rotterdam, Dutch tour, 10/2007)
