Hi, I'm Nigel Beck. A Leicestershire based 6 & 12 string fingerstyle acoustic guitar player. My main influences are Leo Kottke, Pierre Bensusan, Antonio Forcione and Eric Roche.
I love the propulsive flowing nature of Leo kottke's playing and Pierre Bensusan's beautifully crafted music with its classical/jazz/celtic feel are a delight. Antonio Forcione and Eric Roche also inspire me with their imagination and flair for composition and style. These are but a few of the many players I admire and learn from.
The last 12 months have seen me return to performing in acoustic clubs - in fact anywhere where they'll have me and I'm hoping this year to put myself on the acoustic map. My demo recordings are here for your pleasure, I hope you like them. The demo was done recently with the help of my friend John Ablitt who kindly donated his time,expertise & studio - many thanks John. A CD is in the pipeline but being a perfectionist takes time!!If you're ever at any of my performances please come & say hello.

I don't know any of the other places you mentioned .... but LOVED Holy Island / Lindisfarne .. near Berwick upon Tweed (was there for the first and so far only time .... last September!) .... Lindisfarne was for just one day ..... would have been good to stay in one of the B&B's (likely v fully booked) so as to be able to linger a while ..... in the Gertrude Geikle Garden, High up in the house/fort ... and just wandering about enjoying the natural life ... light on the sea ... etc ... I trust you'll all enjoy a really wonderful time and that the trip/visit will be both refreshing and inspiring ..... to yet more music! Penny :o)

We are trying really hard. We have Jon Gomm playing soon and one of his fans told me about you. If your passing we have an open mic night on a Tuesday if your interested. It would be nice to meet you and perhaps we can arrange something.
