Nigel Richards is a man on a mission. From his dream of being the first kid on the block to own a trendy record store, to a DJ who spends lots of time in Airports, Nigel has always been in a constant whirlwind, moving across the country at light speed, playing a few records and moving onto the next place. While he is always active in the studio, it was his first production which remains most popular being called "Sulfurex" which had Damon Wild at the board, helping out to give Nigel's track a place in techno history by using a similar yet harder variation on Moby's "Go". Without Nigel's Input to the scene with his shop 611, I doubt the East Coast scene would have ever gotten as large as it did. The Philadelphia based 611, was the focal point for many local artists like Josh Wink and King Britt and continues to do so.
Sometimes Nigel gets a little too trendy for his own good, but c'mon give the guy a break, he does know how to mix it up when he wants too.......

Nigel Richards is an extraordinary example of a dj with both talent and stage presence. He has both great charisma and energy when he plays. Old mixtape releases such as "Live in Tampa 1998," "Sex," and "Live @ Pitchblack" showcase his abilities to mix records through many different genres and techniques of mixing. Spinning anything from hard techno to groovy house to synthy electro and everything in between (and sometimes beyond), Nigel is also on the forefront in his productions. This carries on as he later releases "611 DJ Mix Series, Vol. 2," "Commemorative mix for the Whistle 3 party," and "Futurematic," where in each he mixes his own records with others. While his recorded mixes are superb, it is an absolute delight and far better to watch this man live.
Video documentation of a performance piece by my friend Nate Kassel who rode around on his bike slapping high-fives to people who were trying to hail taxi cabs in NYC. Enjoy!

Hey Nigel! I see you're going to be in Denver May 30th! Me TOO!!! I am going to see Tiga at Beta. I wonder how far apart these two clubs are from each other. So much to do, so little time!
