Coy King studied double bass under Mark Tatum at the University of New Mexico prior going highway in '99. Stagenights later in a streetlight montage of westcoasting out of Seattle, he hid out in a Florida Coast boarding house in 2005 and started transcribing AM radio tunes on a Harmony archtop in the small hours. Knowing no one but the tenant ghost in the hall, he lived alone for ten months this way. To pass the time, there was writing, then songwriting, drinking alone, and sitting on empty beaches. A classical music education distilled into a southern boyhood, jack skewed on living and dying and loving, making it all come out. dude lives in Georgia, where he is from.
