About me:
A heartfelt “Thank You!” to all those who, purchased (or ate!) cheesecake, generously donated, and participated in the ‘07 Relay. And for putting up with my emails :)
Relay For Life
So what isn't Relay?--a 5k or a walk-a-thon, you need not even walk.
Now for what it is!
The Relay For Life opens as cancer survivors walk, run or wheelchair the first lap in celebration of their victory. We’ll camp out overnight, walk the track, enjoy a great night of music and entertainment. A lighted ceremony is held after dark to honor cancer survivors and to remember those who have lost their battle against cancer. These luminarias line the track and are left burning throughout the night to remind participants of the incredible importance of their contribution.
Why Relay? One in three Americans will get cancer in their lifetime. Relay For Life gives everyone an opportunity to fight back - to make a difference in the battle against cancer.
I Relay in memory of my grandma and so that I won't have to walk in memory of anyone else I love!
Who I'd like to meet: Other Relayers and those interested in participating or sponsoring at Relay.
We would appreciate anyone who becomes a friend of Dawn and helps with getting the word out about her upcoming video release of How We Die. This was the last song Dawn recorded prior to losing her battle with Cancer on March 28, 2007
Dawn’s twin sister Sherrie accepts The Geri Lester Heroes of Breast Cancer Courage Award – In Memory from the Karmanos Cancer Institute on Dawn’s behalf in a video recorded on October 22, 2007.
