Night People is Matthew Buzzell, Sean Eden, Noel Brown, and Eric Kinlaw, with invaluable contributions from Lee Wall, David Bradberry, Myshel Prasad, David Voigt, Gena Olivier, and Nikki Monninger.
NIGHT PEOPLE is a recording and occasional performing project initiated by Los Angeles-based filmmaker Matthew Buzzell. The bulk of the NIGHT PEOPLE canon is mined by Buzzell on baritone ukulele, electric tenor guitar, and vocals. Preliminary recordings, as featured on MySpace, have been produced by multi-instrumentalist Lee Wall, former drummer for the now defunct but fondly remembered LUNA. LUNA's Sean Eden is also a key contributor to NIGHT PEOPLE with his most personal of guitar musings. NIGHT PEOPLE's journeymen contributors include Noel Brown and Eric Kinlaw of THE CUBISTS, David Bradberry of DEBT OF NATURE, David Voigt of ENEMIES OF THE SECRET HIDE-OUT, and the ever-wandering Myshel Prasad of SPACE TEAM ELECTRA. Recent studio contributors include Gena Olivier of MIDNIGHT MOVIES and Nikki Monninger of SILVERSUN PICKUPS.
NIGHT PEOPLE's premiere release, a reading of Yoko Ono's "Listen, The Snow Is Falling," is available on the charitable compilation "The 12 Bands of Christmas Volume 5."
NIGHT PEOPLE has also contributed an ultra-dinky love theme, "The Extremely Tragic Ballad of Matthew and Ranko," to Japanese director Keisuke Toyoshima's celebrated television series DOCUMENTARY SPY TODA: INVESTIGATION OF THE MISSING LADY.
The most recent NIGHT PEOPLE offering is "A Ballad Of Neil Diamond," a cautionary tale of emotional co-dependence. This track features Nikki Monninger of SILVERSUN PICKUPS on bass and backing vocals.
NIGHT PEOPLE are currently recording their first full-length release and are anticipating a Fall 2009 release on the Semi-Precious label to be followed by a micro-tour of Asia.
