NIGHT SHADE is an artist collective based in Portland OR. Artist's Liz Adele Allen, Sarah Frechette, Jason Thibodeaux, Alain Z, along with composers Oviedo Menendez and Blake Madden have fused together as 'NIGHT SHADE'. This artistic collective blends illustration, puppetry, film, music and light into forms of bewitching cinematic theater. "NIGHT SHADE" debuted in Portland at Liberty Hall this past July 2008; lit up "After Hours" a gallery exhibit in the Pearl; and was invited to perform at the 2007 Voice 4 Vision puppet festival in NYC. The groups shape-shifting shadows opened for the Brooklyn based party band "Golden Triangle"; and Brooklyn's electric punk band "Japanther". Liz, Sarah, Jason, Alain, Ovi and Blake were awarded a 2007 seed grant from The Jim Henson Foundation. Through the use of different mediums to communicate between dimensions, NIGHTSHADE question death and living.

Hey, thanks for becoming part of my "friend" space! I'm looking to get more plugged in with creatives worldwide through this social network.
Your cinematic theater performance art stuff sounds fascinating!
My Xeric grant winning book "Jazz: Cool Birth" is now in September's Previews for preorder at comic shops, a murder mystery in a 1957 jazz bar, with art and type based on '50s album cover design, dig? Bebop for your glims.
Info about comic books as a business and focused ramblings are at ComicArtistsDirect. com. "Adam Among the Gods" and "Seductions" have just been made available to buy online at Aazurn. com. The Aazurn Publishing Saga, a step by step account of creating and selling these comics is there, also.
I'm looking forward to exploring the MySpace pages of all of my new "friends" (Man, does that sound square).
Saw the show on Sunday. Absolutely brilliant! An impressive use of cinema vernacular. There were a lot of artists in the audience, and I'm sure most of them found it enormously inspiring. Too bad about the cranky kid though. What part of "Adults Only" did their parents not understand?
