Helping kids through tough times, Nature, Conservation. Restoring Mother Earth, Environmentalism. Also, I am learning to fly. It is the greatest thing. With the loss of so many loved ones in just a short amount of time, I figured why the heck not? What am I saving money for an old age that might not come? Flying. What a freedom. No one nagging you, no one downing you, no one but you and that sky. Awesome. It will take some time to complete but what the heck? Also, I have taken up kick boxing. Also awesome. The first time I went and was doing the backhand to the bag, I got a few flashbacks from days long ago and I thought that kick boxing would be a great thing for domestic violence victims. If they could learn how to kick and roll, maybe one less fist will find their face. Leave The Kids Alone~~~Boarding School Tragedy Slaughter Because of a Dance~~~~Ghost Dance

Do Native Americans Have First Amendment Rights?

  • Music

Everything. From Godsmack to R.Carlos Nakai and Robert Mirabal. Radmilla Cody because she is a domestic abuse survivor, like me. Asani for their beautiful harmony and their perfect blend of voice, rattle and drum. Douglas Blue Feather, Floyd "Red Crow" Westerman, so many. Gerald Primeaux, Sr helps keep me focused and I am honored by his friendship and humbled by his music.
  • Movies

Interview with a Vampire. Gone with the Wind. All the Blade movies. Anything my grandson wants to see.
  • Television

Waste of energy unless it's history and verified. I verify everything I see. To many liars out in the world.
  • Books

Non-Fiction, history, learning about my Dine' and Blackfeet ancestors now that I have been accepted as part of them and finding out more about myself. Having been accepted in to a clan makes the ancestors and today's fights mine too. And my loyalty to the people that took me in as family makes me proud to speak for them. My favorite book is Behind the Trail of Broken Treaties, An Indian Declaration of Independence by Vine Deloria, Jr. "Scattered Leaves" by Lynny Price. Great book! A must read.

Her name is Yoshooni. (spelled the best I know) She has been a grandmother, teacher, life line. She saw her children taken away by boarding school agents and one of her daughters committed suicide. Non-Native people do not realize that family is heart, not necessarily blood. She took me to her like a grand-daughter and began teaching me the things she wanted to teach her own daughter. She is one of my heroes for surviving through the hell of the B.I.A. and stories of Heweeldi. To be "invited into and accepted by the people as one of their own" I have been told means so much more than blood quantum. I have been told that acceptance by a Native people proves more loyalty (my turquiose strand) than most blood Natives. I also have been given a coral strand because of being a "peace giver". Coral is made in the ocean and Natives believe that the current of the ocean in the corals makings carries on through the stones. The white shell strand is for truth and purity of heart. Received that one by sharing my late son's story and my own stories in order to help others get out of abusive relationships and hopefully to educate parents in what their rights are when their child is suicidal and no one will listen. I learned alot of what I share now having gone through the experiences first hand. Suicide and domestic violence are just two of the things that I will fight for and I take it personal. Leonard Peltier for being able to survive a wrongful conviction due to FBI and government coverups and fabricated evidence through intimidation and murder of the Lakota people. Radmilla Cody for being able to overcome domestic abuse (like myself) and go on to be one of the most beautiful voices in Dineh' music. All the kids that have come across my path since Oct. 2000. Many of which have overcome life's battles that no one should ever have to go through. I applaud anyone that lives the Native way honestly and fully. I have been blessed with teachers and guidance given by the Elders. A hero to me is one who fights the fight without just talking about it. A hero to me is someone that lives their heart and not their 'desire' to be something they are not and collects material things to feel important. Black Bear who I am proud to call "Uncle". Master potter and artist. Google Black Bear's Den....you will enjoy. My heros are the people that died at Wounded Knee during ceremony, Sand Creek Massacre, Yahoo Falls and ALL the survivors of the broken treaties and promises. My heros are the ones that have the guts to stand up for themselves in spite all adversary's that they come across. I share personal things with only one person. He has told me continually "shields up" because he is aware of who and what I am. I will continue to pray over cedar smudge for people to open their minds, not to take things personally unless they have a reason to and to become more accepting of the many different races, creeds and origins of what makes up this United States. Racism should not exist anymore but it unfortunately does. So to be a hero to me, you have be willing to accept people for who they are and not by the label given to them out of that racism.......

Who I'd like to meet:

Updated May 2009 Members of the Native community...all native peoples to which need connection in this world we must walk--for a time--until we are able to return to our home...wherever our heart leads us. Be it in the Spirit World or this United States recognizes the Sovereign Nations that are Indian Country. Others who are wanting to keep alive our culture and bring awareness to the 'other worlds'....Others who want to help "de-bunk" the myths that are perpetuated about us and the lies turned back into the truth. Bring out true history instead of the "better forgotten" versions. Our wonderful Mother the Earth is falling to pieces and not many seem to care. She is our life and we need to protect her. We need to make others aware of our beautiful and sacred cultures and histories. Our beautiful and magnificent 4-legged and winged ones. Disappearing at an accelerated pace. Just like Native cultures. I will fight for these things until Creator says it's time for me to be with my son. Idleness is wastefulness. We must protect the things I mentioned not because of commendations, kudos and recognition but because it is in our heart, pure and true to do so for our future generations. The extermination and genocide of all two legged, 4 legged and winged. It's still going on today. Sadly, it's never going to stop as long as greed and disharmony exist. Leonard Peltier is in prison for a crime he did not commit as well as countless other political prisoners that have no more business than Leonard being in prison. So much unjustness and prejudice still exist and we claim to be more "tolerant". Not in Indian Country. Tolerance is something Natives have never experienced unless they "assimilate" into a culture that has no clue of fairness or spirituality in it's truest form. Hozho

I once saw and heard a wolf, was he howling at the stars; No, I thought that night, he's crying to the man in the moon.
He was sad about the death of his mate, caught in a snare; Lost forever to the Spirit world, never more to be seen or heard.
The Alpha Male once so proud, now diminished by his loss; Resorts to almost humanlike behavior, by offering up a prayer.
The pups she once cared for and fed, whimpered their soft refrain; Were now the responsibility of another, whom he might learn to love.
All the others in the pack joined in his song, understanding and sharing; In his mournful and eerie cry, once again pledging their loyalty to him.
Natures once proud and abounding breeds, slowly but surely diminished; by a misunderstood and uncaring law, that they were dangerous to one and all.
From the crest of that proud vantage point, a wolf prayer was shared; Reminding me and others when all seems lost, we can Cry To The Man In The Moon.

    DEAR SANTA
    - by Del "Abe" Jones

    Dear Santa, I'm older
    But, still believe in you
    (At least, I believe in
The things you try, to do).

    Maybe, I can't ask for
    A Tonka, or, a train.
(But, if you'd bring one of them
    You know, I won't complain).

But, what I really wish for
    Is a special present
    Love that can't be "returned"
    Once it has been sent.

    Everybody needs a little
    And some, need a lot
But, if you get a tiny bit
You still know what you got.

    So Santa, drop a little
    Under each Christmas tree
Then, all will get a present
From what it's 'posed to be.

And if there is no tree
    For the alone, and poor
When you get, to their place
    Just, drop, a little more.

John and I want to wish you the best for the Holiday Season!! Your friendship is the greatest gift we could have been given and are so thankful that you are a part of our lives! Wishing you a Merry Christmas and the Happiest of New Year's!

    Peace, love and respect always!

    Have a Wonderful day today!
    Please smile alot ,you
    are very special!

Thank you so much for another Day!

    I listened carefully around me.
    I heard a howl,
    From a she-wolf,
    I know what she said.
I understand what she's telling me.
    She told me,
"No matter how far away you are.
Your family misses you and loves.
Don't forget that. Little one on the mountain,
    Don't forget this please."
    From then on,
    Even though I'm far away,
    I know you miss me.

    They call you nature's majesty
    So mysterious, wild and free
As I see your paw prints in the snow
I ponder on the things you know
You are so gentle and kind at heart
How could anyone tear you apart
I hear you at night howling at the moon
To let your family know you'll be home soon
As you search for food for the day
I watch your little ones hard at play
How could anyone think you are a beast
When we are so much alike even to the least
I want to show you how much I care
For I will spread the word on what we share
Your one great enemy is man
I promise to you I'll help them understand

    Much Love,peace and respect always,

                         John Wolf

The blood in my veins is that of yours,
The air you breathe is the same as mine,
I hunt to live, you hunt for sport,
Yet our hearts are to beat as one,
For when are hearts are in time,
    The world is at peace,
Yet still you make my heart still,
Until I may be let to breathe again,
The world shall never be at rest.
So let me breathe and roam the land free,
Do you not see how alike we are?
    You and me?
Just let me breathe, and be free.

WELCOME TO MY CIRCLE OF FRIENDS, DEBBIE
  • Dec 15 2009 10:06 AM

The aerial shooting of wolves in Alaska has begun once again.
They are losing a battle they they find hard to win.
As I walk alone into the night,
Scared and lonely with no more fight.
I try to think of what is was that made them hate me so,
Somebody out there please hear my cries,
I'm tired and lonely. I don't want to die.
I am lost and wondering with no place left to go,
My loved ones were taken down below.
The shadows of wings came flying over above,
I had turned my head to see nothing but blood.
Nothing for me to do but run,
Oh, how they had taken the ones I love.
    I hide behind a tree,
    Hoping they won't see me.
    Trying to catch my breath,
    All I hear is death.
    Why have they forsaken me,
Taking our souls and our dignity.
I run away as far as I can,
Knowing tomorrow there will be Wings landing again.
So if you hear my cries across the skies,
Please ask them for me. Why?
And when they look at you with a grin,
With an answer that makes no since.
    Please tell them for me,
That I now too have wings to fly!

    Please help stop aerial hunting!
Thank you so muc for the friendship,
I cherrish everyday that I live,
and everyday that I have you as
    a friend!
    Love always,John Wolf
