Beau and Alex Barnett started Night Soil in 2001. Almost immediately, the band found themselves pushing to have a creative heavy metal sound; at a time when radio and television were being filled with nu metal, pop, and hip hop. This inspired Night Soil to break away from all popular music.Recruiting Chrys Cornetet solidified the lineup in 2003. Two lineup changes and two demos led to Night Soil recording their first album, Living in Oblivion. The album is a collaborative effort of brutal riffs and thought provoking lyrics. Night Soil is striving to be a heavy band without pigeonholing themselves to a certain category. this by bringing forth aggressive metal with lyrics that make you think. Night Soil will be scheduling dates to support Living in Oblivion in late 2007 and 2008.
