In Detroit, aka the Motor City & my birth place, my mother listened to R&B and my father listened to jazz. Big Mama (my Great-grandmother) listened to gospel music or “Spirituals” and as a modern/ballet dancer and performer, I heard the “other” genres of music. I left Detroit for the United States Army convinced there was much more to life than the "krazy" I'd grown accustomed to. Fast forward...the military behind me, I stumbled into radio in the mid '80s while in El Paso, Texas. I volunteered at Community Radio station KXCR (imagine that!) and was eventually hired at a couple of Adult Contemporary stations. When the desert air finally took its toll, I moved to Kansas City, Missouri grateful for the lessons learned and the experience gained. Courageously, I contacted KCUR, was hired, and after a year, moved into the Night Tides slot where I've been every since. My goal is to introduce listeners to the most eclectic music composed by the most talented and experienced musicians not often heard anywhere else. Your presence and an open mind is all that is required.
