At the forefront of the new generation of dance bands, Night Watch performs for contra and English country dances throughout the U.S., seamlessly meshing their northern and southern musical roots. On fiddle, Naomi Morse finds sounds both fiery and flowing, and her rhythmic Vermont style sparks with French Canadian and southern old-time influences. Owen Morrison, hailing from Nashville, brings a bluegrass tint to the band, contributing facile improvisatory lead guitar and mandolin. Elvie Miller, a New Hampshire native, grounds the band with groovy piano accompaniment and accordion breaks that leave dancers screaming for more. Night Watch has been playing together for over ten years, and has been touring professionally for the last six.

Hi Folks, thanks for the friendship and for the connection with Celtic Connection. Great sounds at yours, keep on folkin' ;-) We also have a vibrant folkdancing scene at ours...... Amazing, that such things from "Old Europe" are being performed at the other end of the Great Pond instead of squaredances and twosteps - what we do also, in addition to our own traditional dances ;-) All the Best from Germany, the CC's
a little bird told me its the curly ones birthday,....so,...happy birthday.I got a sneaky earful of some of the new tunes,....lovely lovely crispy playing. See yee in philly.
if you do some dances closer to me, or even MA, if i can make it, i will come out in force! you know, rollin' with my posse of contra neighbors... literally. my real neighbor and i ride to a lot of dances together, and a friend who is a neighbor to the place i work will go as well i'm sure. and probably my sister, who's room is right next to mine, so that's a pretty close neighbor i guess... how's that for "contra neighbors"???
