About NIHIL OBSTAT:: GRABACION DEL ALBUM INICIADA!!!
NIHIL OBSTAT surge a finales de 1999 en la ciudad de Palmira - Valle del Cauca (Colombia), constituida inicialmente por Luis Fernando Castillo en la batería, Andrés Felipe Bonilla en la vocal, Andrés Camacho en el bajo, Germán "Mancho" Ramírez y David Santos en las guitarras. La banda ofrece su primer recital a mediados de 2000 ejecutando un Brutal Death Metal demoledor y corrosivo.
Hacia finales de 2000 se realizan relevos en el bajo por Dario Seba y Germán Orejuela en la batería, periodo durante el cual la banda explora diversos escenarios del Valle del Cauca y el pais. En el año 2001 se lanza el demo-tape DESTIERRO AL OPRESOR teniendo una favorable acogida por el público agotando existencias, posteriormente se realizan algunas otras grabaciones con el fin de promocionar la banda. Las producciones han estado a cargo del sello HATE PRODUCTION que es propiedad de la banda.
A principios de 2003 se vincula al baterista Leofaber Gutiérrez con quién se reafirman las directrices musicales de la banda y a principios de 2004 ingresa Fabián Tejada en el bajo logrando finalmente consolidar la formación actual de la banda.
En el año 2004 la banda entra a ser parte del brutal sello norteamericano GOREGIASTIC RECORDS el cual se interesa en su potencial musical llegando a un acuerdo de producción del primer trabajo en formato CD titulado INHERITED PRIMITIVE BEHAVIORS, siendo este grabado en Acuarela Studios durante el mes de mayo en la ciudad de Cali y lanzado para su distribución mundial el 19 de Julio del mismo año.
Durante este periodo se abre el sitio web oficial de la banda www.nihilobstatmetal.com.
Desde el lanzamiento del trabajo se logra obtener un gran número de reseñas, críticas y reconocimiento hacia el mismo, además de entrevistas realizadas por medios de diversos países en varios continentes a los cuales ha llegado el sonido de NIHIL OBSTAT. Igualmente se participa en una cantidad de shows en gran parte del pais durante los años subsiguientes, tiempo durante el cual la banda madura su sonido generando nuevos temas para una producción posterior.
Actualmente NIHIL OBSTAT cuenta con un PROMO CD grabado en mayo de 2007 en la ciudad de Cali en La Sala Estudios con el cual se empieza el proceso de dar a conocer y difundir entre el público, la radio, la internet y sellos disqueros el nuevo material de la banda.

NIHIL OBSTAT starts by the end of 1999 in Palmira - Valle del Cauca (Colombia), consisted initially of Luis Fernando Castillo on drums, Andrés Felipe Bonilla on vocals, Andrés Camacho on bass, Germán “Mancho” Ramirez and David Santos on guitars. The band has its first gig by mid 2000 performing a corrosive and demolishing Brutal Death Metal.
By the end of 2000 relays are made on bass by Dario Seba and Germán Orejuela on drums, time in which the band journeys through the different stages in Valle del Cauca and the country. By 2001 the demo-tape DESTIERRO AL OPRESOR is released having a good reception by the audience having it sold out in no time, further recordings where made with the purpose of promoting the band. The production of this recordings were made by the label HATE PRODUCTION which is property of the band.
By the dawn of 2003 the drummer Leofaber Gutierrez enters the band with whom the musical direction of the band is consolidated and in 2004 Fabián Tejada takes place as bass player establishing the current line up.
In 2004 the band enters the brutal US label GOREGIASTIC RECORDS which
gets interested in it’s musical potential signing the production agreement for the first CD entitled INHERITED PRIMITIVE BEHAVIORS, being recorded in may at Acuarela Studios in Cali and released for world distribution in July 19th on the same year. During this time is also released the official website of the band www.nihilobstatmetal.com.
Since the release of the album a great number of reviews, critics and aknowledgement to it is received, along with interviews made by different media from many countries in various continents where the sound of NIHIL OBSTAT has reached. Equally the band participates in a number of shows through the country on the subsequent years, period in which the band develops its sound generating new songs for a further production.
Currently NIHIL OBSTAT has a PROMO CD recorded in May 2007 in Cali at La Sala Studios with which is started the process of publishing and promoting the new material among the audience, radio, internet and record labels.
