THIS WEEK'S 5 RUNNING TIPS 1. Rest. Don’t be afraid to take days off. One of the advantages of training consistently is that when you do take a short rest, you lose very little of your training edge. 2. Training routes. The Nike program has picked scenic routes all over LA to provide enjoyment on the run. Everyone enjoys pleasant places to run and to see the sights like on the beach. 3. Goals. Focus on short-term goals, you will keep your enthusiasm of the sport up and this will help keep you motivated. 4. Travel. It’s fun to run in the convenience of your home area but it is also fun to check out other sights around your hometown. Nike has found 20 fabulous locations around Los Angeles for you to enjoy your run. 5. Confidence. A high level of training builds a high level of confidence and leads to success.

Sigh...Jimmy...thinking about changing your name from "The Ostrich" to "The Cougar"? One more bad 80's reference like that and we'll start denying your comments. ;)
It was great to have you and Kate make the trek down from the upper West Side to the heart of the SB for our run. You're both always welcome; know that I do plan on getting up extra early one morning for an appointment with the Luna Loop.
Dude and dudette... my calves KILL from running on the sand. But like that great 80's song said, "It hurts so good, come on baby make it hurt SO good, sometimes runs don't feel like they should, hey baby, it hurts so good!"
Yep, I'm a dork. And I'll be back for this SURREAL night-run! And post run dinner!!!
Thanks to Mike, Caroline and Tracie for coming out and running our first beach run! It was great to meet and run with all of you! Look forward to seeing you next week and at some of the other NT20 runs! - Gareth
