Having started her
career singing in a girl band signed and managed by No.1 Artist Chesney Hawkes
and his father “Chip” (The Tremeloes), Nikki has spent the past few years
developing her own solo career and focusing on writing her debut album. It was
on the strength of these tracks that she was scouted in 2006 by the legendary
music mogul Mike Stock (Stock, Aitken and Waterman).
Following this, Nikki
has been creating quite a stir in the past year on My Space, clocking up a surge
of profile views and an impressive list of friends, including 3 dedicated sites
run by her fans! With a buzzing internet vibe she has caught the ears of
Capital Radio DJ “Welshy” (co-presenter with Johnny Vaughan on the Capital
Breakfast show).
With her obvious vocal
talent, Nikki has spiralled into a truthful songwriter, attending to the issues
that confront everyone in life. “Desolate Fairground” is a
heartbreaking tale addressing the breakdown of the relationship due to
addiction. The minimalist production exposes Nikki’s tender vocals, provoking
the honest emotion of the track allowing the listener to wander into a land of
truth. On the flip-side, “I
Resign” is an attitude-driven pop/rock track with anti-bullying
undertones and encouraging lyrics which incite the message of strength and
conviction in the victim.
The past 18 months has
seen Nikki gigging in and around London at well known venues, such as The Betsy
Trotwood, The Orange (Original Songwriters) and Café De Paris accompanied by her
acoustic guitarist. In popular demand, Nikki was invited to perform on a tour of
Under 18s SNAP Dance Nights, in association with Crimestoppers. From this, Nikki
has attracted a great following and has recently been asked to appear at a
number of Radio Jackie Roadshows around the South West London area.
In recent years, the UK
market has been full of indie bands and RnB artists and has yet to sign a female
