I used to read romance novels endlessly. Now I write them. I try to make each one I write different and each one is certainly a challenge. In my stories I've tackled things like the death of loved one, rape, abandonment, political intrigue, conspiracies, and betrayals. There's never a dull moment in my world, as I'm often plotting how to kill, maim, or torment people.

Hmm, what would my fan girl moments be? I'm not sure that I can narrow down a list of people. I've already had several.

My world these days tends to revolve around my family and writing. On the writing side, I've rubbed elbows with literary agents, editors, and authors at almost every level of the game. Each person has been tremendous in their own way, and I've learned from each of them.

JR Ward can pick me out of a crowd and remember that I'm the one who let her in a locked door at a conference. Of course, I did bar the opening with my body until she agreed to a photo op. And then she let me hold her RITA, which in the world of romance writers is like an OSCAR. Yes, I realize that makes me sound a tad crazy, but it was very exciting as this is a woman I admire.

I've interviewed NY Times and USA Today Best-selling authors Brenda Novak and Allison Brennan. I've spent an evening helping Nora Roberts during a booksigning, which was awesome as she's one of the nicest people. I met and interviewed Robert Gottlieb who is the literary agent that has consulted with the Vatican and the Russian Cultural Ministry and is credited for discovering Tom Clancy. You could have blown me over with a breath when I heard his voice on my cell phone voicemail. I've met Barry Eisler who spent three years in a covert position with the CIA's Directorate of Operations (before doing some other really cool stuff) and have interviewed Joseph Finder whose books have been turned into movies including High Crimes with Ashley Judd and Morgan Freeman.

    Hmm, I listen to a huge variety. I have classical, opera, jazz, pop, hard rock, metal, funk, eighties, and anything else that strikes a mood with me. Some of my favorite artists are Nuttin But Stringz and Eli Mattson (found them on America's Got Talent), Delta Goodrem, Nickleback, Merchants of Moonshine (a friend's band), Hinder, Seether, Three Days Grace, Godsmack, Kathy Trocolli, Vince Gill, Toby Keith, Rich Mullins, David Cook, Collective Soul, Five for Fighting, Nine Inch Nails, Alan Jackson, Alicia Keys, Celine Dion, Frank Sinatra, Ricky Nelson, Elvis Presley, Black Sabbath, Bon Jovi, Celtic Women, Coldpaly, Daughtry, DC Talk, Def Leppard, Depeche Mode, INXS, Dishwalla, Disturbed, Enrique Iglesias.

    Criminal Minds, Bones, and Supernatural top the list. Other favorites (in no particular order) include CSI, CSI NY, Fringe, Smallville, The Mentalist, Eleventh Hour, Burn Notice. The new show Lie To Me (which probably means it will be cancelled because I like it). They're not on anymore but I loved The Pretender (wish they would do another movie to wrap it allup) and Charmed. I know I watch more, but you know how memories are.

    Power Play, The Lost Diary of Don Jaun, Eve of Darkness by SJ Day (though it's not out until 2009). Otherwise, I enjoy anything that sweeps me up and carries me away from whatever is going on in my day-to-day life. Favorite authors include Maya Banks, Shelley Bradley, Sylvia Day, Candace Havens, Jax Cassidy, Jaci Burton, Nora Roberts, Leslie Langtry, Joseph Finder, and JR Ward.
