I grew up in the Mountains of Western North Carolina. My grandfather always played guitar-- he played Hank and gospel songs. And I inherited his guitar when I was 15. I started playing bluegrass about three years ago. The guitar is built for playing old time music.
I have always sang, and hearing folks like Sheila Kay Adams and Iris Dement makes me want to sing more. Keeping my family tradition and roots in my mind and in my sound is a beautiful thing and I will keep learning songs and sharing as I find them.
I haven't written any original songs, yet. I move slowly so it takes a huge force against inertia for my to put words on paper. It will happen sooner or later.
I have plans to record a full-length album, but I am still working things out.
I finally got a chance to sit down and listen and you sound great! See you Saturday. Oh, and I posted some of the pictures from Savannah on my profile check them out.
