my name is Nils Martin Larsen.
i am a 20 year old musician oddly placed in Oslo , Norway.
i produce , i preform and i compose. all depending on the time as well as the place.
over my still so few years of calling myself a musician ive done some various this´s and thats. some i am proud of , some i might not be. in a unranked an unmarked list , here are some of the things i have been up to.
- i played one of norways biggest venues at age 17 with my own project. then i did my music under the unmemorable , long and somewhat querky name "Secret Rivals of Lama". but the gig was fun though.
- i have been honored with being able to say i have fulfilled my childhood dream of playing rockefeller music hall (oslo) 4 times now.
- i supported Ralph Myerz , and i played StavernFestival with my own stuff.
- i joined infamous Jaga Jazzist at 19. this collaboration was terminated after one norwegian tour wich i am truly happy to have had the chance to do.
- i lent the rather ungrateful artist Bellman my guitar ideas
- and now i am recording , producing and playing nearly everything on my first record under the solo-act name of LAMA. its getting there. keep your eyes open. and of the things i have done till now , this is what i am most proud of.
my thoughts around doing and playing music , my ideology one might say , is not to necessarily be a virtouso on any instrument. but to be able to express whatever i want to on the instruments i want to express it on. of course. im not one of those rotten punk-guitar players who say "it rules to play really crappy" and its vital that what i play will sound great as its played. but im not a big fan of sitting in a room all my life learning how to play 16th notes in 190 bpm when i write music that will never demand such a skill.
instead ive spent my life up till now reaching a level that lets me preform on lots of different instruments and lets me express what i want. therefore im playing reeds , all kinds of instruments with keys on them , i tend to sing , i play the guitar and lapsteel , i program , i produce , i do effects and ambients , i do drones and rythms , i love to sample and i... i... dont know .. a list will follow.
i have a intense admiration for music for film and soundtracks. and one of the things i am figuring out how to be able to do in the future is write some score for a dark and crazy norwegian short-film. so if you made one , send me an email.
other than that , i have a facination of Norwegians use of the famous Jantelov. check it out if you want to. im sure google has all the information you will ever need. its a terrible thing , you see.
and jeah. i enjoy playing in all sorts of constillations. so if you sit infront of your computer thinking ; "jeah , i think me and that guy could make some nice music." then give me a call. i bet im of the same opinion.
Life is good my man and I really miss making contact with you!!! Where have you been!? I'm in Denmark doing some gigs with Jakob Bro. Totally fun so far. I might be in Norway this August. For sure working on it. Me and a friend just listened to your cd head to tail the other night at his loft over these huge speakers. Sounded KILLING!!

Går veldig bra. lager enormt mye musikk for diverse NRK ting for tiden.. så skiva ligger på hylla. Kjempe masse kule jobber så er veldig inspirert. og du selv??
hei sveis, ja lekeslossing er gøy ja:) det beste var jo at de nesten ble venner igjen etterpå, men bare nesten. Waltzen din var veldig fin. gav meg en god følelse. Kan desverre ikke komme på konsert. skal ha visuals på pi samme kveld. men plutselig møtes vi!
