NIMINUMTEK have been working together since 2004. What started off as a one song collaboration turned into a two man musical movement with all sides covered. NIM NOMADIC stays writing about the trials and tribulations of humanity and MINIMUM TEK provides the canvas and backdrop for lyrics that bite the soul.
nim has been writing consistently for 18 years and has several songs with Mega Demus who produces for The Last Emperor. minimum has been playing the guitar for 18 years and is a member of the revolutionary band Outernational who was recently featured in the Village Voice and MTV-online.
Together their music travels from soulful melodies to spaced out explorations; from sampled drums to acoustic strums. They are humbled to be compared to predecessors such as Kool Keith and Saul Williams but are eager to create something incomparable...

To all jazz musicians, visual artists, and everyone who has not forgotten what was done to the people of New Orleans:
On Sunday, Sept. 3, to mark the 1-year anniversary of Katrina, the NYC chapter of The World Can't Wait - Drive Out the Bush Regime and SALAAM Theatre, would like to join with jazz musicians to march through the streets of Manhattan. We will begin with a dirge, marching solemnly in mourning of those who were killed, criminalized, and abandoned at the hands of the Bush administration. Then we will burst forward to a joyous New Orleans beat as we declare that we will NEVER FORGIVE or FORGET, and WE WILL DRIVE OUT THIS REGIME. We would like to begin in Harlem on Sunday, at 11:30 AM, going from church to church, gathering people as mass lets out
...One year ago, we were outraged to see the people of New Orleans stranded on roof tops for DAYS.
...We were outraged to see them treated like criminals with shoot-to-kill orders placed on them; 1, 339 killed not just by the storm but at the hands of officials sent in to restore order.
And now, one year later, not much has changed. Instead of being stranded on roof tops, the majority of Black people displaced are stranded in cities, spread across the country and unable to return home. It is an outrage that residents from various New Orleans housing projects are not allowed a Right to Return. Their homes, still standing and fixable, are surrounded by fences and barbed wire. It is outrageous that there are bodies that are still being found in abandoned homes, that there are people who are still missing, and the Find Family Assistance Center is shutting down regardless of that fact.
So, on this one-year anniversary, we will remember New Orleans in this most appropriate way, in their own tradition.
