Naomi is a trained singer and actor with over twenty years experience. Originally from England, her stage credits there include ANNIE (Brighton Theatre Group, 1993), WHEN SATURDAY COMES (Starlite Theatre Group, 1994), THE CHILDREN OF WINTER (Starlight Theatre Group, 1995), and THE SOUND OF MUSIC (Crescent Operatic Society, 1995). Whilst studying for her A Levels, Naomi appeared in college productions of WAITING FOR GODOT as Vladimir and Steven Berkoff's METAMORPHOSIS as Greta. She moved to Australia in 2003 to study a Bachelor of Creative Industries in Drama at Queensland University of Technology and whilst there performed in MATILDA WOMEN (2003) as Mary Watson, directed by Melinda Butel, and TASHI STORIES (2005) at the Brisbane Powerhouse in which she created the role of Mrs Chintu.
Naomi made her Australian theatre debut with Harvest Rain Theatre Company in TWELFTH NIGHT (2003), and continued with the company in productions of THE WIZ (2004), LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS (2005), ARSENIC AND OLD LACE as Elaine (2005), HARVEY as Nurse Kelly (2005), BIG BLACK BOX (2005) as Gluttony, and INTO THE WOODS (2005) as Little Red Ridinghood for which she won a Del'Arte award for Favourite Actress.
In 2006, Naomi appeared as Mimi in the Queensland premiere of Jonathon Larson's RENT (Schonell-Starlight Productions) and Emma in the Queensland premiere of Andrew Lloyd-Webber's TELL ME ON A SUNDAY (Schonell Productions). She also appeared as part of the Quartet on CAROLS IN THE CITY (Channel Ten). In 2007 Naomi returned to Harvest Rain Theatre Company as Yonah in CHILDREN OF EDEN, Alice in ALICE for which she won a Del'Arte Award for Best Actress, THE BEST OF BROADWAY AND BEYOND and DIVAS. She also produced and played the role of Cathy in the Queensland premiere of Jason Robert Brown's THE LAST FIVE YEARS (Oscar Theatre Company/Judith Wright Centre), for which she won a Del'Arte Award for Best Actress and was nominated for a Matilda Award. At Christmas, Naomi reprised her role as part of the Quartet for CAROLS IN THE CITY (Channel Ten).
In 2008 Naomi made her directorial debut in January with DISNEY'S HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL for MAD Youth Theatre and her professional theatre debut with La Boite Theatre Company/Matrix Theatre in Michael Futcher and Helen Howard's THE WISHING WELL. She flew to Kuala Lumpur to perform alongside Max Pellicano in ELVIS TO THE MAX and sang at the NRA FASHION AWARDS (Nine Network). She also performed in a return season of DIVAS, the last show to be staged at the Sydney Street Theatre and reprised her role in the Quartet for CAROLS IN THE CITY (Nine Network).
Naomi has been extremely privileged to perform alongside some of Australia’s finest talent including Guy Sebastian, Marina Prior, Sylvie Paladino, Jack Chambers, Dean Geyer, Colin Buchanan, James Morrison, The Idea of North and Scat.
Naomi appeared as Wendy in Harvest Rain Theatre Company's THE AWFULLY BIG ADVENTURES OF PETER PAN at the Cremorne Theatre, QPAC in January 2009. She went on to perform in JUNGLE BUNGLE for Echelon Productions and will perform again in CAROLS IN THE CITY on December 5.
