Too many to narrow down - the whole gamut from Tori Amos and Bonnie Raitt to Fiona Apple to Aimee Mann and Elliott Smith to the many amazing singer/songwriters I know in the city.
Nina’s been part of the NYC singer-songwriter scene since the late 90’s, mainly as a singer – and a member of the harmony vocal trio the Aimee van Dyne Band. She finally picked up that guitar one day with the determination to write her own tunes. After a stint busking on the 1,9 subway line she started performing around town and in Portland, ME where she’s opened for Truth About Daisies and was recently heard on WMPG.
Nina’s especially excited about her newest harmony-based project with veteran pop/folk songstress Sharon Goldman. They call themselves Sweet Bitters, and tracks from their brand new self-titled debut CD can be heard at their myspace page: myspace.com/sweetbitters, their Facebook fan page, or www.sweetbitters.net
