You need to be at the next show. Like I said, we are attempting to mix several different styles of music, with emphasis on Jazz, Blues, Funk, and Rock; this is a low cost experiment. We definitely enjoy trading solos and working off of each other. Alot of our songs are written with heavy structure as well as a jam sequence, where we will improvise with solos. We also like to write meaningful lyrics, so some of our songs turn out to be a little simpler with very complex wording. We feel like some things just need to be said as simply as possible, as to avoid any esoteric misconceptions as far as poetry is involved. Being understood is not overrated. As Tom Robbins said:
“There is no such thing as a weird human being, It's just that some people require more understanding than others”
It seems like Instrumental music, to the untrained ear and most people in Texas, can become repetitive very quickly so we try to keep the music moving as much as possible. This can be done with time changes, feel changes, modulations, breaks, and accents. We use technology as well as chemistry to make magic sounds that cannot be reproduced with ease. We are influenced by you on your good days and bad ones. We are influenced by all of the great Hobbit people of Denton. We are influenced by James Dean and the neotenous mindset; the timeless spirit of the outlaw. We like weird; we like to draw synthetic Dali'-esque moustaches on our face. We like Floyd. We listen to a humongous array of incredible music made by some pretty eccentric and brilliant men and women. We feel it is our duty to play live music as much as possible. Dig please.
We are a unique and talented band that enjoy crafting and creating what we refer to as melodious music mixing elements of high energy funk/blues, jazz, a little reggae, summertime, a dash of hip hop (its in the beats), and well, good old secret sauce, quantam mechanics, the sacred jam of the seven chakras, the six figures, the five fingers, the four agreements, the three jewels of the Tao. a little luck, high hopes, miscellaneous influential and likeable musicians, and the concept of freedom through creativity. We started in August of 2006, and played around 30 shows in a little over a year.
But we play other stuff too. This guy likes it:
