Anything directed by a Coen or Tim Burton. Especially Big Fish and Mars Attacks! if I have to pick favorites. Hitchcock movies. Sidney Lumet movies. Super Troopers, How High, various other stoned cinematic materpieces. Forrest Gump, Young Frankenstein, Killer Klowns From Outer Space, Smokey and the Bandit 1 and 2 but not so much 3. Pixar movies. Zombie movies and killers in hockey masks, too.
Television
The Office, Weeds, Reno 911, American Dad, Dexter, This American Life, Flight of the Conchords, Futurama reruns because Zoidberg is cool, Pushing Daisies, 30 Rock, The Simpsons, Three's Company, Sanford and Son, Family Ties, Small Wonder.
Books
Cat's Cradle and The Sirens of Titan and lots of books that perpetuate the anti-American liberal hipster scumbag image. That's all Matt Taibbi's fault. Fareed Zakaria is a brilliant man.
Heroes
My heroes never did much to help other people. There are plenty of people around changing the world in various ways, but winning the Nobel prize isn't on my to-do list at the moment.
My heroes all make me laugh a lot. Mitch Hedburg, Ron White, Richard Pryor, Doug Stanhope. True heroes. All of them.
I also admire the current Dalai Lama and people who still read.

Five days a week, I get to see the sun rise over the interstate, beyond the Japanese restaurant with the phallic mushroom sign and the cloud of pollution coming from the turbine plant. Talk about the wonder and beauty of nature.
