So, it's been some time since I've hit the tour circuit and I really miss it! I miss being out there playing different rooms and seeing all your faces! The transition from road warrior to stay at home songwriter was a necessary one for me and though it has been incredibly rewarding, I really miss the community and vibrancy of playing shows. However, before tears fall into your morning coffee, it seems as if the two worlds are colliding. While working on some other projects I was fortunate to refresh an old, old (I'm talking "we've know each other for so long I can't tell you just how long b/c I wouldn't be able to lie about my age anymore" long) friendship with Kristen Henderson of Antigone Rising. They too have gone through some changes in the past few years and as Kristen and I started spending more time together we also started writing. Lets fast forward this to the present... I seem to have fallen into the band, ANTIGONE RISING with NINI! Its been really fun and a nice change of pace to consider being onstage again and working with these great ladies just sweetens the deal. We have new material and shows booked in PA, MA, NYC for September (dates posted!) with more to follow. Here's a sneak peak!

BUT here it is! not in the snocap store but in the nimbit one. its black.. see it? you are the best and i thank you many times!
**THE HAMILTONS**
THE HAMILTONS are (featuring Trina Hamlin and Marilyn D'Amato) kinda like the dixie chicks meet the jonas brothers without the sold out stadium shows and without the preteen fanfare.. so im guessing its not very jonas brothers at all. BUT, we are playing LIVE - no lip syncing! on Thursday March 26, 2009 at NYC's THE LIVING ROOM on Thursday March 26, 2009!
**NINI IN JAPANESE?**
actually i think its Dutch! "Stay Together" (written and performed by Nini for Pokemon's 10th anniv CD) has been covered - karaoke style - they took my voice out, sang to the track, made a video and put it up on the ol youtube. Hard not to love it.

ONE OF THE FEW DONT MISS SOLO ACTS TO COME THROUGH TOWN THIS YEAR -Creative Loafing
Its not everyday that a first generation Cuban American, finesses a glass slide along the strings of her acoustic guitar with her foot stomping in time to the swampiest groove this side of the Mississippi Delta, but that is exactly how Nini Camps takes the stage to play SLIDE, the lead off track from her sophomore release, SO LONG. Dont be mislead however, into thinking that bluesy slide work is the only thing this New York City based, independent, singer, songwriter, guitarist has to offer. Musically, she goes beyond the conventions of todays popular music fearlessly blurring the lines of pop, country, folk and rock to create a sound that is as diverse as it is powerful. While influenced by such powerful writers as Lucinda Williams, Bruce Springsteen and Patty Griffin, it is Ninis ability to effortlessly tap into her Cuban heritage and the likes of the late Celia Cruz, that her unique combination of old and new, Cuban and American is borne.
Currently writing for Cherry Lane Music Publishing, Nini has toured all over the US, London Canada and Germany (as the US representative for the World Cup Music Festival).
NINI CAMPS: Driving You Out
The new EP by singer, songwriter, guitarist, Nini Camps is a collection of 5 songs that ranges from a foot stomping southern swamp track (East 35th), to a delicate bilingual ballad (All you wanted) to a driving roots rock song (Not Coming Back).
Powerhouse performances and her unique blend of acoustic slide guitar, pop melodies and hints of her Cuban heritage, give her a musical identity reminiscent of Lucinda Williams, Bonnie Raitt and Sheryl Crow, but that is unmistakably her own.
We're trying to get the word out that the Back Home In Lahaina restaurant gig has been postponed due to a project we are working on.
But we have this coming up!

Hi! Thanks so much for adding me. I 1st heard your songs on "As the World Turns" w/ Jennifer Landon. I absolutely love them, and when I found you on myspace, well, all of your music I've heard is just terrific!! Keep on writing, and performing! Love to hear more!!
Thanks for the add! I was just wondering when you were going to release the song Come Away (the one featured on a Degrassi episode)? Or if there's anyway I could buy it? It's such a good song!
Nini, I am honored to be in your company here. Your style, voice and sound is an inspiration for folk/country listeners. As a Lyricist it would be a thrill to collaborate with you one day.

About this page: I have been very active in Domestic Violence causes all of my adult life. I noticed a need in the world pertaining to Same Sex Domestic Violence. It happens more than people know. Unfortunately there is a number of gay people who barely consider themselves worthy or valued as a gay person much less a Domestic Violence Victim. There is also very limited resources, statistics, or information, for Same Sex Domestic Violence. Hopefully through empowerment and education we can change some of this. :D
Hey my old friend and biggest fan-Best wishes to you for a very Happy New Year. I hope all is well and you are having the best time doing what you love best. Stay well, safe and enjoy a great holiday. BT
