  • Bio

Born in St. Thomas, Jamaica, Glenton Foreman as his parents named him had a keen interest in music from the late eighties, when he started to DJ like his mentor ‘Ninja man’, at sessions in and around communities in St. Thomas on sound systems such as Libra Force and Techniques. A major competition was held in Rocky Point, St. Thomas by Lee’s unlimited and Glenton entered and won first place, it was there that Simple Simon a well known artist, identified him as an artist with potential and took him to Kingston at Black Scorpio Studio where he met Johnny Osbourne who heard him and then gave him the name Ninja Ford . Ninja Ford started recording, his first single “Pass Di Coffin” was for Duke Records after which he continues to put out singles such as “Jump Over Board” on the John John Label, “Pet We no Powder” on the Bobby Digital Label, “Bad Man pleasure” on Dennis Star label and “Big Life” on the Pure and Clean Label, just to name a few. Convinced the world is ready for him, Ninja Ford started performing on stage shows and clubs. His first stage appearance was at Sting 1991, when Ninja man introduced him to the world has his son. Ninja Ford keeps appearing on several shows after that, events such as; “Reggae in the Valley”, “Jam Jam”, Spring Break, St. Mary mi come from” and much more. Ninja Ford stared to tour, Canada, U.S.A., Africa, Japan, the Caribbean, England and Europe where he had an immeasurable amount of experience being exposed to different culture and music, he decided to continue on a path that will take his career to the ultimate level. Ninja Ford took this to the studio only to return with a banging new sensation, one that draws the attention of everyone. Returning with a new sound, image and name, Sir Ford as he is now called and best fitting with his experience and image, came out 2009 with “Some days” produced by Dameon Gayle on the Warriors Musick Label, took to the streets of Jamaica and the world as an anthem in the street dances, getting heavy rotation both on radio stations and television programs where it took its place on the CVm tv E-stripe chart. Teaming up with Dameon Gayle, Sir Ford have been working very hard and released several singles and collaborations in 2010, such as; “Gwaan Talk”- getting heavy rotation both locally and internationally, taking its place on the St. Croix Chart holding the number one spot for over 2 weeks. “Few Lessons” – collaboration with G-whiz, Wasp, Devano, and Cali-P, getting heavy rotation both radio and television, also holding its place on the CVM tv E-Stripe top 20 chart. “Regulation” (Hustling)-Getting heavy rotation in the streets both locally and abroad. “Coming From Far”- a well anticipated single featuring Luciano. Sir Ford is presently in studio working on his debut album to be released early 2011. Representing a new generation of reggae that keeps in the tradition of crooners who came before him, those who inspire him, including the likes of; Ninja man, Bob Marley, Shabba Ranks, Super Cat, Capleton, luciano, Sizzla just to name a few. Sir Ford continues to bring fresh voice to the genre and is presently working with Warriors Musick Label.
