GeneralCraft Brew Cast: Microbrew Fests Live...

Ninkasi is the Ancient Sumerian Goddess of Brewing. She is the goddess made to "satisfy the desire" and "sate the heart." Sumerians were an ancient civilization located in the southern part of Mesopotamia (modern day southeastern Iraq) from the time of the earliest records in the mid 4th millennium BC until the rise of Babylonia in the late 3rd millennium BC.

The Sumerians were the first recorded brewers to give up a nomadic way of life and become an agrarian society. They produced barley as early as 3500 BC from which they made bread and beer. The first people to have writing, schools, and laws, the Sumerians were also the first to practice organized beer production.

It is our goal to educate people about the significant role that beer has played in the cultivation of civilization. We are proud to carry out this tradition for our own community as we honor Ninkasi, the first spirit in brewing.

MoviesJamie Floyd, owner of Ninkasi Brewing, was invited to participate as a "star" in the local version of Dancing With The Stars. This was a charity event hosted by Upstart Crow Studios. Upstart Crow Studios is a non-profit youth performing arts organization. Their collaborative arts education center showcases programs in performing, visual and applied arts.
See Jamie's performance below!

This video was taken by Drinking With Darren (thanks guys!), featuring our production site while it was still under construction. We have since moved in and love our new home.

Walked into New Seasons a couple of months ago and saw your beer, my favorite beer right there on the shelf. Made My day right there. I tell everyone at work about this beer but yet it does not do the beer enough justice....oh what a good day afterall

We need everyone to help spread the word about us. We need each and every one of you to tell your friends about us. Bring them to a show, have them listen to our CDs with you, add our banners to your page, put our music on your page, etc. We appreciate everyone's help and support, keep spreading the word. Thanks to all of the support of our loyal fans we have had several talks lately with promoters, record executives, and talent scouts. Your dedication in supporting us has given us the opportunity to play in bigger markets and spread our music into new territories. Keep an eye on our upcoming shows and we hope to see you soon. Summer Tour coming in mid August along with music festivals in Myrtle Creek, OR as well as La Pine, OR. Thanks again and be sure to tell all of your friends.

Thank you to everyone that came out and supported us on Thursday April 17th at Last Band Standing. Due to the great support of all of our friends and family we have moved onto the next round. We had a significant amount of votes for us, but we'll need even more of you at the next round coming in mid June. We know it's still a month away, but this is a very important Battle of the Bands for us. There is a new tour van, gear from Guitar Center, a 3 song EP recording, studio time, tattoo gift cards to Black Lotus, merchandise from PrintWear of Oregon and so much more. So if all of our friends could start spreading the word it would be greatly appreciated. Last Band Standing is an all ages Battle of the Bands held at Taboo in Eugene, Oregon. Taboo is located on the corner of 6th and Willamette near downtown. We need you there to vote at the end of the night. We know it's a Thursday night, but it gets over around 11PM. So come down, hangout with us, have a few drinks and get loud as we try to move on to the Finals of Last Band Standing. It's just $3 for under 21, and $5 for those of you 21 and over. Repost bulletins about the show, tell your friends and co-workers, text your buddies, let everyone know that Grynch is playing in Round 2 of Last Band Standing and everyone's support is needed. Thanks and we hope to see you there. Anyone interested in helping pass out handbills and fliers for this, please contact us. We hope to be the "Last Band Standing".
