MySpace a place for friends

"I'm on Facebook way more often; click the link above to see my Fan Page, Flickr and Blogspot, all of which I update far more often. Myspace is a tangled mess of ads, catchpas and spammers I try to distance myself from.

I come here to check bulletins and lurk like a creeper mostly. And I won't bother writing in a wonderful description because I'll sound just like everyone else on this site; either lonely and begging for attention or overzealous, pompous and more than little annoying.

I can't really say any of the several things I see repeated in people's "about Me's," everywhere here; that I'm exciting, adventurous, happy, loving, exceptional, special, blah, blah, blah. Those are relative characteristics which strike people differently from person-to-person and quite frankly, lots of things that interest me bore or disgust others and vice versa. Unless those others are experimental grindcore bands, which I'm on the fence about. It's kind of like false advertising, which works if you're in this for networking I guess. But when it comes down to it, I'm really not.

Some concrete things about me that I CAN say include: I'm biologically male, I'm a fan of iconoclsm and transgressive art forms, I like tattoos and piercings (though I myself only have one piercing and no tats), I enjoy a fairly wide spectrum of musical genres that spans from acoustic soul-stringers like City & Colour (who I met!!!) to the manic intensity of lovely art punks like The Blood Brothers. As of this writing, I'm really liking This Will Destroy You. I have a special spot in my heart for the soft-spoken. I adore low-fi cameras (Holgas, Oktomats, etc.). I like to draw and I'm good at it. I like wearing bobby pins to keep my hair out of my face which accentuates my already slightly girlish features. I'm wicked slim and fully Chinese, though I don't speak a word of the language, which is kind of sad when you think about it. I'm also perpetually short on petty cash so if you have any you wouldn't mind sparing, please drop me a line and I'll whip up something personal and amazing, just for you.
