Mark Stevens, known to his mother as "Niskerone" is an established and well known artist that has been dominating the South African Drum and Bass (DnB) circuit since 2004. He first arrived on the DnB scene hosting and promoting monthly events. His passion lead him to master the craft of DJing, gaining respect from all the key players in the industry that would pave the way in securing Niskerone's future in the DnB circuit.

Currently known as the "the man behind It Came From The Jungle" (BPM Mag, 2008) and "king of the underground Drum & Bass jungle" (Cape Argus, 2009), Niskerone's past has seen him hold residencies at leading clubs such as Stones, Babbaloos and Black Sheep. The combination of wicked DJ skills and an extensive knowledge of the genre led him to host a radio show on UCT Radio for two years alongside internationally recognised artist, SFR. This stint was followed by another year at Mutha FM co-hosting a show with South African DnB ambassadors, Counterstrike.

Niskerone's career took a massive leap when he was offered a permanent residency at the legendary haven for quality underground music, Fiction DJ Bar. Thus, It Came From The Jungle was born. The brand night took Cape Town's clubbing scene to a new level and rose to become South Africa's biggest weekly Drum & Bass night. As the night gained popularity, so too did the DJ at it's helm. Niskerone's energetic and innovative style of mixing has won the souls of many dancefloors as well as obtaining him slots alongside international greats such as Pascal, Raiden, Danny Wheeler, Nymfo, Break, Trei, Temper D, TKO & Miss Wendy and even an impromtu back to back with Holland's DJ Chuckie.

He has since toured Belguim, Holland, Germany, Spain and Sweden, playing at some of Europe's best regarded clubs including Spain's oldest nightclub, Florida 135 (est. 1942). In South Africa aside from numerous club bookings, Niskerone has graced the stages of Oppikoppi Festival, Obz Festival, Lucky Fish Festival, Cape Town Festival, Earthdance, regular appearances at Homegrown and headline at New Years Revolutions three years running!

Niskerone's influences derive from internationally well known artist such as Pendulum, Noisia and High Contrast. It is due to this that one could describe Niskerone’s style as a mixture of Liquid to Jump Up to Neurofunk with the bits of Dubstep thrown in for good measure. The sound that emerges from the speakers when Niskerone is in the driving seat has been described as "a bowl of deep, pulsating subs mixed with fast two step rhythms and topped with subtle hints of dub, electro, jazz and funk"
