I like to think I have a broad spectrum of "likes" as far as music goes.
My "first loves" of music are 60s & 70s classic rock and heavy metal. I have a soft spot for 80s pop, 80s-90s hair bands, and anything by Elvis, Patsy Cline, Bessie Smith, Janis Joplin, Johnny Cash, or Led Zeppelin.
I'm particularly fond of 20s and 30s blues and jazz. When I'm in "feeling cultured" mood I like classical or opera, particularly Beethoven and anything with the 3 tenors.
I love dark and heavy metal. (And yes, I love goth metal too, but after a while some of it gets repetitive.) I am also fond of many local bands, particularly Obliviaxe.
I don't care much for gangster (or "thug" as I call it) crap. I like hiphop and many rap artists, but I refuse to support anyone who glorifies violence, gang activity, the degradation of women, ... etc. Nerdcore HipHop owns me though. :)
I don't care for most country, despite being born and raised in the South. ;P
My latest musical obsessions: Lordi, mc chris, and Acts Magdalena.
Movies
Depends on my mood, but I like just about anything ... favs are martial arts, sci-fi, horror (particularly vampires), and cheesy B movies.
Television
My tv interests are pretty defined: anything on the Discovery Channel (love Myth Busters), Sci-Fi, the Food Network (I love to cook), Animal Planet, and Cartoon Network (HUGE Adult Swim fan!).
Books
I love to read, but don't get to do so as much as I'd like. I've been a big Harry Potter fan for years, also love Tolkien's works. Love horror books, like Stephen King. I've re-discovered the various Star Trek books series and am growing very fond of William Shattner's works, as well as Wil Wheaton's.
Heroes
I'm pretty unoriginal here ... I admire family and friends -- each for their different strengths and virtues. I am a better woman because of each of you.

I'm an American related to all colors of brethren, Priests and Pastors and Prophets and Reverends, Divided we fall united we stand together man, In this cultural melting pot there's nothing better than, This land of the free and the home of the brave, Populated by ancestors of immigrants and slaves who met early graves So we could see brighter days and we could proudly praise and raise the stars and stripes as Americans
Hate me
Blame me
You can't shame me
Come and stand with me
I'm American
I'm an American born in these states united, Where racial discrimination keeps us so divided, But we've got free speech so I won't be quiet, We got a lot of problems here man I won't deny it, But ain't another place that I'd rather be, Than in this land of great opportunity, Where we can be anything that we wanna be, So until the day I D-I-E, I stand tall as an American
This account is mostly for keeping up with friends and family members here on MySpace. But I am always open to networking, finding new contacts, and potential clients. (*ahem* Need a website or graphic work?) I don't post here regularly ... or at all for that matter, hehe. If you want to keep up with my personal blog, it's at www.nitallica.org along with most everything else in my little virtual junk box that I call my website. :)
I also have my blog syndicated through LiveJournal. You can find me there.
I spend most (if not all) of my spare time volunteering for Soldiers' Angels. I am a Community Team Leader for the state of Alabama and also run the Alabama chapter website (www.BamaAngels.org).
NOTE:
I am happily married and am not interested in anything other than chatting with friends and family. So that means: No, I am not looking for a hot date, a cyber mate, or anything of that nature, so thank you for playing. ;)
Thank you for being our friend and for supporting our men and women in uniform. I hope we can bring more awareness and help to those who are wounded during their service. Everyone is welcome to add us as a friend.
