Never let haters stand in the way of your happiness... Karma always bites in the ass and the only real taste of success they'll ever encounter, is the bite they take out of you!
Greetings Myspace friends... I'm Nita, my musician buds call me "Neets" or "Nita Neets," a nickname given to me by my long time band mate of seven years, some time ago. I started singing at a ripe age of 5, consuming the majority of my life, next to being an entrepreneur. Singers run in the family, my mom, two aunts and now three of my nieces.
I joined my first rock band at 15 and performed at the Colorado River Fairgrounds, I then moved on to front quite a few original rock bands from the L.A. area, where I was accepted and trained by the world renown vocal coach to the stars, RON ANDERSON (American Idol, Kiss, Rock Star, Ozzy Osbourne, Britney Spears, Korn, Neil Diamond, Chris Cornell, Heart, Pink, Kelly Clarkston, Alicia Keys & more).
I've played with some awesome musicians who have either been in legendary bands or played with members of Dio, Ozzy Osbourne, Kiss, Black Sabbath, Mercyful Fate, Quiet Riot, Impellitteri, Whitesnake, Ted Nugent, Tracy G, Korn, Van Halen, The Scorpions, Iron Maiden, Yardsale, Social Distortion, Phil Wolfe, Mike Guerrero, Michael Angelo Batio, Death by Stereo and more.
Included on songs I posted are "Pain" and "Broken" which I wrote in 2004 with Alex Zandretta (Alexis Machine/Canada) when he recruited me off the MP3.com website. My preference was to regroup my longest running band, FINAL NOTICE, but we settled for CYCLE OF PAIN for a couple of years. I also posted "Strange" with "KREWL" Dave (engineered by Christoper Wade Damerst, 2003 Grammy winner, Pink, Talia, Robin Williams and more). "Krewl" Dave and I have written quite a few songs (1987-2004).
Though I've always written all of my songs with band members, one of my favorite styles is harder rock (metal), so I post a medley as a tribute to Rush and Judas Priest, which we did when I fronted FINAL NOTICE for seven-years. Southern California's guitar legend, Steve Medrano from Montebello, God bless his soul (RIP), was playing lead guitar. He is also featured on the other FINAL NOTICE songs I posted, two of the many songs we wrote together (recorded at Pasha, CBS Studios with MIKEY DAVIS, engineer).
Back in FINAL NOTICE, after paying our dues for many years on the original circuit through the majority of the 80's and picking up some great musicians along the way, co-founder/drummer, Edgar "Paul" Allen (Virus 7, Original Sin) and I were finally getting some recognition and we were offered a recording contract by an indie label with gold records on their roster, though we turned it down for a well known producer who worked at RCA for 16-years, ED DEJOY, who worked with mogul producer, CLIVE DAVIS (Columbia Records, American Idol). Ed asked us to concentrate on writing with a radio sound in the vein of our original, "Fantasy Lover," so we switched gears in the of the middle of the stream.
After 7-years behind the awesome drum sounds of FINAL NOTICE, co-founder, Edgar "Paul" Allen (Virus 7, Original Sin) and I broke off our live-in relationship (remaining friends) so that's when he dropped the sticks and continued rockin's as a lead singer touring the stages of the world. That is when I auditioned "Krewl" Dave from the OC, back in the FINAL NOTICE studio to co-write for the producers. "Krewl" Dave and I were very pleased with the group of songs we wrote and recorded, but right after that is when I became disabled for a quite a few years due to an accident and major back surgery, making it hard for me to perform on stage for any length of time back then. I've spent the years re-grouping FINAL NOTICE and performing whenever possible, apart from my business schedule.
I also perfomed in 2004 with Mike Guerrero (Deathriders) and his band, TAPPING NINJA, along with Dan Palmer (Death by Stereo). Earlier, Phil Wolfe (Final Notice's ex-keyboardist, plus many legendary bands) and Maria Glass (Glass Wolfe) and I went to see Anne Bolyn's band (Hellion) at Paladino's. I was very impressed with Mike's technique, reminding me of Steve Medrano. That's when I recruited Mike for "L.A. Rock Camp" that I co-produced, affiliated with ROCK STAR CAMP - and Not "Rock and Roll Fanstasy Camp." We also filmed a British TV show with L.A. Rock Camp. Later on, Mike and I also performed with his band in Hollywood and we attempt to write some songs, but his busy schedule never allowed the quality time I needed from him. He is a riveting guitarist who has played and written with some of the greatest legends.
Music has always helped me to heal my soul when I felt "Broken" and I needed it most and its always been my greatest passion in life.
I am open for collaboration, live, online or in the studio, soundtrack submissions, voice-overs, jingles, or just plain rockin' for the fun of it (rock, alternative, metal, blues and jazz).
