About me: VEG's general aim is non-confrontational educational outreach to supply Northern Illinois University and the surrounding community information about the benefits of plant-based diets as they relate to animal rights, human health, and the environmental consequences of contemporary animal agriculture.
Our regular activities include lectures by widely renowned experts in the fields of health, environmental studies, and philosophy; potlucks, vegan barbeques, charity events, educational outreach tabling, film presentations, and discussions.
Who I'd like to meet: Anyone interested in plant-based foods! We're talkin' vegetarians, vegans, veg-curious omnivores, veg-curious carnivores (dinosaurs included), raw foodists, macrobioticists, environmentalists, health-conscientious folk, animal lovers...
