Beautiful, sexy and awesome: those are the three adjectives I'd use to describe... my guitars!! Yep, I could look at them for hours and admire the sheer perfection of these instruments... I love music and could not live without it. I do play guitar and bass and I have gathered an array of other instruments (mandolin, banjo, zither, violin etc) although I haven't dedicated enough time to them..yet! My music taste can be defined as "eclectic" (see a very small list below) and I get excited as a little kid when I come across a good new band/artist. Books: could I live without them? No... I would probably shrivel up in a corner like a plant in desperate need of water.. I can't help but read anything I lay my eyes on, including the instructions on tampax boxes and the toilet paper wrapper ( just in case I have used them incorrectly all these years..hehe). Apart from books, I read a few selected magazines (Q, Diva, Focus, The New Scientist, Mojo and occasionally GQ -yep, you read that correctly!-) and, when my brain needs something more challenging, I grab a copy of The Guardian, The Times or The Independent. I'm very quiet in person but a while ago, a dear friend of mine said that I turn into "this ferocious verbal beast in letters, emails and message boards", so be warned! I enjoy dining out with a very selected group of friends, especially if the conversation is flowing and if the food is washed down by a couple of glasses of Cabernet Sauvignon; I'm addicted to chocolate as long as it's not Cadbury's or Hersheys, both of which have such a small amount of cocoa, they should be classed as "poo" (they taste like it as well!) . What else do I like.... drinking strong coffee, sunbathing, travelling (money and time permitting..and yes, America is still on my list!!!), discovering new places in Friuli-Venezia Giulia (the region in Italy I come from), learning about our history, spending time with the most beautiful Golden Retriever on Earth (Taz), pondering about the meaning of life, my Nintendo DS,my Ipod, my mountain bike (sadly left in Italy!) etc. I am also fascinated by bees.

Blurbs

About me:

Slightly off centre and constantly eluding the realm of conformity, I alternate moments of complete seriousness to moments of utter madness and total silliness (I believe the technical term is "talking bollocks") without crossing the psychotic borderline.
I landed on this planet in 1963, the very same year that saw the first woman in space...coincidence?
Italian to the core and very proud of my roots, I moved to England a little more than a decade ago because the language seemed easy to learn (it is) , the climate was hot and dry (it isn't) and its "novelle cuisine" was famous (haha!). Seriously though (and before I upset British citizens).. I do love Great Britain and wouldn't want to live anywhere else... oh, ok, if we could move the UK to a hotter/sunnier place on Earth, perfection would be achieved.
Back to "moi": Quiet and reserved and more likely to be seen with a book,playing/listening to music or navel gazing than dancing in a club, I have a predisposition to sarcasm, which I'm told is the lowest form of wit... ah well, still a form of wit I suppose! Over the years I have developed a weakness for dry and witty humour which thankfully abounds in the UK.
I contradict myself on a daily basis but that's a woman's prerogative, especially if she's suffering from PMT... I seem to be obsessed with cleaning and keeping everything tidy and organised but then again, I'm a Virgo, so don't blame me, blame the position of the planets, stars etc on the day I was born, although some people claim I suffer from OCD!
In spite of the fact that adulthood hit me between the eyes more than a couple of decades ago, I somehow managed to retain a child-like (what my nephew refers to as "Peter Pan Syndrome) approach towards certain aspect of life so you might catch me riding a trolley (shopping cart) at our local supermarket or miming to the muzak in supermarkets using a french stick as a guitar ...
Apart from that, I'm "normal"... Whatever that means... ;-)

..............
..

Who I'd like to meet:

Not sure I want to actually "meet" anybody and I'm not here to collect "friends" (I value friendship way too much for that) but I'd like to talk to like minded people with whom I can have a serious conversation as well as an "off-the-wall" one. ..
