Nixie is a BC based all female band that formed in January 2008. The four piece consisting of drums, synthesizers, piano, vocals, and bass guitar has already made waves in their hometown, Kelowna, and around Western Canada. The new wave, electro, dance grooves coming out of these four young ladies is sure to get you off your feet and leave you in a tranced awe. Their genre spans from dance to alternative to hip hop, into trance and pop. With a one hour set and a freshly recorded full length CD (slated for release in Spring 2010) be sure to keep an eye on this up and coming hit, Nixie!

Nixie recently spent 2 weeks in Vancouver.BC. recording with their producer, Futcher, at Nimbus School of Recording Arts. Futcher is already linked with acts such as (Fences, Lillix, The Be Good Tanyas) and is a compliment to Nixie's fresh and vibrant sound. Extraordinary circumstances brought the two forces together in harmony, to record and produce what will be the breakthrough album of 2010. Promise.
During their first two summers, Nixie had the privilege of touring across Western Canada. Performance venues included the infamous Canmore Hotel, New City Likwid Lounge in Edmonton, O'Hanlon's in Regina, and various others between Vancouver.BC. and Winnipeg.MB. Nixie has graced the stage at the British Columbia Interior Music Awards (2008), the BC Summer games (2008), and at world renowned festival Shambhala in Salmo, BC (2008/09). Nixie was dubbed BC Interior Music Nominee hopefuls for 2009 and has performed alongside bigger named acts such as Kinnie Star, Wassabi Collective, Moses Mayes, The Sleddogs, Mapping the Escape, etc. The girls were recently recognized during the final panel (top 90 of 450 applicants from around BC) in Vancouver's 2009 Peak Performance Project Talent search. Well, I finally got to see you guys play! (Haven't since you were Terza Rima... so a good long while ago). Congrats on all the success and I can sure see why. You rocked Shambhala pretty hard, and considering Shambhala is a pretty happening place to begin with, that's saying something. Play more gigs in K Town! I'm there!
Hey friends sadly we have had to pass up 3 shows this last month and two in september. Dufftastic is in regina empregnating the city for a month and Chad the wonder mule is at burning man eating peyote. We will reconvene for GP attack in mid october throughout the winter and beyond. Wanna hit the road?
