Music
I have an XM radio that I absolutely Love and can't live without! I love indie rock/pop music. I'm also into music that's just plain fun! Some of my favorites are: Modest Mouse, Lotus Child, Gomez, Hey Rosetta!, Pilot Speed, Bob Schneider, Beck, Spoon, Ani DiFranco, David Gray, The Shins, Flaming Lips, Postal Service
Movies
I love movies! Particularly independent/art movies, movies that play with time, plus ones that make me laugh out loud as well or are filled with suspense. Some of my favorites are: Stranger Than Fiction, Amelie, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Sideways, Thunderheart, 13 Conversations about one thing, 21 Grams, Garden State, Pieces of April, Memento, 28 Days Later, While you were sleeping, 10 things I hate about you, Wedding Singer, Run Lola Run, Royal Tennenbaums (I watched this recently and it was really cracking me up)
While I didn't think the movie Wedding Crashers was as hilarious as others were saying, I did really like this diatribe on dating made by Vince Vaughn's character:
I apologize to you if I don't seem real eager to jump into a forced awkard intimate situation that people like to call dating. I don't like the feeling. You're sitting there, wondering Do I have food on my face? Am I eating, am I talking too much? Are they talking enough? Am I interested? I'm not interested, should I play like I'm interested but I'm not that interested but I think she might be interested but do I want to be interested but now that she's not interested, so now all of a sudden I'm started to get interested? ..."
Television
Project Runway, Dexter, House, The Closer, Saving Grace, Grey's Anatomy, CSI, Project Runway, Wonderfalls (awesomely quirky show that you can now only watch on dvd), Daily Show.
Books
Blink: The Power of Thinking without Thinking. Design Flaws of the Human Condition, Such a Pretty Girl. An old favorite is Jennifer Government. Takes place in the future where corporations and money rule everything in life. Your last name is who you work for -- so your work is your identity and if you don't have a job you don't really have an identity. Police are also a corporation ruled by money -- so you have to pay them to investigate crimes against you. I made the mistake of attempting to start reading The Company (by Max Barry who wrote Jennier Government), another book about evil corporations, while on my vacation to Europe. I found I couldn't read about company crap while I was on vacation forgetting about work. I'm sure I'll pick it up again soon. Other ones I really liked are: The DaVinci Code (finally read it and really liked it), Apathy (there are so many awesome lines in this book), PopCo (another book about evil corporations ... sensing a trend here?), Hairstyles of the Damned, Tall Pine Polka, Oh My Stars.

About me: I'm all about having fun, listening to music, playing in the outdoors (from swimming to kayaking), and chillin with my friends. I love all sorts of artistic pursuits. I enjoy creating my own art (painting, printmaking, photography) as well as enjoying the creativity of others by going to art museums (preferrably modern art), watching art/independent films. In addition, I love going to see live music! Bring it on!
I recently completed my training to be a life coach. I am really excited about helping people to have more fun and achieve the life of their dreams. In October I am continuing to improve my skills by starting the certification program. You can check out my coaching website here.
I find humor in the insanity of every day life. For example, the other day I saw a street sign that said "No riding on shoulder of road" and I was dying laughing. Most signs talking about shoulders don't think the reader will confuse it to be about the body part. The thought that people in the town were probably fighting over the wording of the sign just cracked me up.
Here are the pictures from my recent trip to Berlin, Barcelona, and Paris:
Check out the kick ass song by Bob Schneider, back before he cut all of his hair off - "Come On Baby" ...
..
Who I'd like to meet: Fun sarcastic people to laugh and joke around with! Music lovers! Kayakers! Artists and art lovers! Oh, and it's always cool to meet people that not only share similar musical interests but would also be game for heading out to see a show/concert. I'm always looking for people to go with to see Bob Schneider. Plus, of course, I love many other bands as well.
