Sounds Like
Loud, rowdy, beautiful, and like nothing you've heard before. The press about Anger Me:
“It’s that improbable symbiosis of efficiency and insanity that makes Anger Me such a success.” - KindaMuzik
“(…) That makes the second album Anger Me exciting throughout, with sturdy songs, rooted in noiserock, introvert songs (Cosmonaut is brilliant both in simplicity and sound) and experimental excersizes. (…) Exceptional.” - OOR
“Anger Me seeks to be a meeting place for asphyxiating rock and nervous sampling fireworks. The album sometimes sounds like Sonic Youth – the Lee Ranaldo tracks! Sometimes it gets a little more playful, with Beck-like samples. Then it turns to be agressively overpowering like Barkmarket. In short, Anger Me is a continuous guerrilla: the listener is being beleaguered from all sides. The music is always compelling. (...) Danger Men explores grounds that (too) few Dutch rockbands dare to go. In short, an exciting album.” - CUT-UP.COM
“From the first second on, the groaning, pounding sounds come speeding towards the listener like hungry wolves. (…) Escape is impossible. Danger Men keeps you in an iron grip with originality as their chief weapon. (…) The expression ‘underground’ was invented for Danger Men. (…) A big compliment here; Danger Men is like nothing else.” – BN/De Stem
“Morsink and Fabels had a clear picture in mind of what they wanted and their debut therefore is raw, fragmented and beautiful at the same time. The experienced listener hears their inspirations, American noise, punk and film. Repeated listening required, but there’s a whole lot to discover.” – PLATOMANIA
“The spoken lyrics and chaotic nature make you think of the first Beck-album (and that’s not ‘Mellow Gold’) and also recalls Captain Beefheart’s ‘Trout Mask Replica’, but that’s about all the comparisons we can come up with. (…) Don’t be scared off, keep listening and give it a chance; you’ve never heard something like this - for real!
- MUSICFROM.NL
After playing together in the internationally succesful Dutch indieband CORDS for several years back in the nineties, in the summer of 2000 Maz Morsink (guitars, beats) and Marc Fabels (bass, vocals) joined forces again to form DANGER MEN. Started out as a home studio project exploring the outer limits of song and sound, they released their debut album ANGER ME in September 2006.
DANGER MEN are currently working on their second album, of which the first two tracks JESUS' FACE and SLUMMER have been released through iTunes in September 2008.
“DJ Monkey …soul-stirring, excitingly edgy music…just disturbing (read ‘mind-f**king’) enough to demand attention. There is a whole spice rack of auditory flavors here, served up like fractured poetry on a collection of intensely listenable Hallmark cards from Hell.
