don’t understand: emo haircuts, asymmetrical hemlines, the tiniest bit of French, how not to procrastinate, people who aren't from the UK constantly using the words brilliant and bloody
allergic to: shrimp, isms
attracted to: tattoos, uniforms, great cologne, man lines, people who remember birthdays, white man dreads, mohawks, shiny things, great hugs, people who will argue politics with me and not get offended, people with manners, people who know the words to the Star Spangled Banner, people that say bless you
afraid of: hobos, spiders, fireworks, the closet monster, sushi, needles, falling off the sidewalk and being hit by a bus, Irish Car Bombs
not afraid to: speak my mind, debate you, be creative, CH it up, admit that I watch NASCAR, work my ass off, fall on my face, shoot a gun, tell people I love them, sneak snacks into movies or go to a second show, be crafty, relish the cheese factor, wear bling bling, confront abusive personalities, shoot Jager Bombs
hate: U2, racism, people who can’t keep their promises, mornings, litterbugs, morons, slow drivers, doing laundry
love: taking surveys, impromptu sing alongs, razor sharp wit, the city of Boston, concerts, UGA football, freebies, getting flowers, giving presents, smoking cigs, funny t-shirts, nine inch nails, buttons, catalogue shopping, my iPod, road trips, mixed icees, the Red Sox, marching band competitions, room dwelling, seeing the So So Def Records sign when I come into town, blasts from the past and walks down memory lane, Riesling, people who comment on blogs, Coors Light, safety bars, my friends, mp3s, going to the theater
know how to: kill scorpions, cook like Martha, speak a little Spanish, drive well, operate in a court room
need to learn: how not to kill sea monkeys, to be less critical
use: Google and Wikipedia daily, the word random constantly, my eee-er eee-er skills often
no use for: back stabbers, vinyl
believe: marriages can last, carrot top is funny, you can never have enough purses, in cosmic timing and déjà vu, sparkly rings are the best, you should recycle your cans, pictures are better than autographs, bing bonging is a great way to communicate, Pistachio and Rocky Road are tied for the best ice creams ever, Democrats are smarter than Republicans
don’t believe: in love at first sight, private schools are better than public, gum stays in your stomach for seven years if you swallow it
never: had a pet, remember jokes, drive drunk, been to Europe, have enough music memorabilia
always: drink hazelnut coffee, sleep with the fan on and the TV on a sleep timer, get the job done, wear perfume, quote movies
good at: trivial pursuit
bad at: text messaging, returning phone calls, accepting rejection, saying no

We signed up for facebook, but never got much farther than that. Doesn't seem all that user-friendly to me, but everyone else says otherwise. Maybe I just need to try again.
The biggest news is that we're getting ready to buy a house. YAY! If all goes well, we'll have the keys by mid-July. Kind of scary, but it's time to stop paying rent and that $8000 tax break is too good to pass up.
Hope you've been well!
XOXOXO,
claire

I think the videos are badass! By this point I have no doubt in my mind that this tour will be my favorite yet that I'll have attended... It's a four-piece, still pretty unusual to take in, though with that comes some cool performance aspects, but the songs are what count to me. And by the sounds of it (and by what's already been performed--La Mer & The Fragile, oh...and TDS), we're gonna be getting loads of rarities, AND a change of setlist every show. That's all I've ever wanted.
From the top...I'm thinking any of the following:
Sanctified
Kinda I Want To
That's What I Get
The Only Time
Ringfinger
Last
Happiness In Slavery
Mr. Self Destruct
Heresy
Ruiner
The Becoming
I Do Not Want This
Big Man With A Gun
Somewhat Damaged
We're In This Together
Just Like You Imagined
No, You Don't
The Great Below
The Way Out Is Through
Where Is Everybody? (debut already!)
The Mark Has Been Made
Please
You Know What You Are?
The Collector
With Teeth
Getting Smaller
Sunspots
Home
My Violent Heart
Demon Seed

But it's good enough news to repeat:
A few things...
We are putting the final touches on our iPhone application and we are aiming to have it in the app store by April 1. This is NOT to be lumped in with the major-label band app drivel that's coming out now. This is a new, cool, hopefully useful app aimed at the NIN fan that will be particularly good if you're seeing us on tour. It will make you smarter, healthier and more attractive to the opposite sex (if that's your thing)... and it's free. We're planning on a pre-release demo video as soon as we have a stable build.
Also, the set lists for tours post Australia will be much more varied than what we're currently playing. The fault lies with me in underestimating the time of converting the band to a four-piece Powered By Ilan™ as well as spending a lot of time with Jane's Addiction during our rehearsal time before AUS/NZ run.
So there!
TR
Update: I am told it will work with the iPod touch.

Wish you were coming up with I & J, but soon enough we'll all be together again, Niki!
Meanwhile, have a little taste:

(in case you didn't already catch onto this latest one)
Despite working on up to 70 separate Nine Inch Nails songs as a quartet, Justin is at pains to divulge the live rarities being promised.
“Whether or not they surface quickly in the tour, there are songs that are B-sides, rarities and unreleased material that we are getting our hands around. It’s exciting when a song gets a rest for some time, but there’s equal excitement when you spring something new on an audience.”
