We are Near My Evil (aka N.M.E.) a Hardcore Metal quintet from Kenosha, Wisconsin and Round Lake, Illinois. We are here for one purpose, to get our music heard by the masses. Our band first started in 2002 with guitarist Jamie Vaughn, Paul Godina and drummer Bryan Ritacca. The first order of business was writing the most complex and unique music anyone has ever heard, but they couldn't do alone. For a year, they rehearsed when in mid 2003 they picked up bass player Cruz Rodriguez. Then music got a whole hell of alot better to write. A few months past by and in late 2003 the bands line up was completed with vocalist Michael Power. Since then,we have been focused on building a fan bases and promoting our music throughout the region by constantly playing shows wherever possible. We Also worked hard to complete our first full length album. Throughout the years we've managed to survive many external and internal problems. What band hasn't though, but the drive for making music was well intact.
In early 2005, we had already written 12 songs with some of our best material. With better song structure and even better lyrics, We wrote our most popular songs such as "Unjustifiable Homicide","Patiently Watching Them Bleed" and "Wartorn". Now it's 2009, we have written over 30 perfectly executed songs and are in the middle of releasing 2nd 5 song EP. Come check out Near My Evil as we leave a nasty scar on the music scene.
We've had the honor and privilege of sharing the stage with Hatebreed, Agnostic Front, Diecast, Love Is Red, Autumn Offering, Dry Kill Logic, Superjoint Ritual,The Heavils, Six Feet Under, Internal Bleeding, Meshuggah, God Forbid, The Haunted, Premonitions of War, Bloodsimple, Throwdown, SoulFly, Children Of Bodom, Trivium, Amon Amarth, Darkest Hour, Poison The Well, Shadows Fall, Bury Your Dead and Misery Signals. Also have played such Venues as The Rave in Milwaukee, WI, The Forest Hill Lodge in Rockford, IL, Chubby Rain's House of Tunes in Poplar Grove, IL and Sharky's in Round Lake, IL.
