Welcome to the College of Education's MySpace site.


The mission of the College of Education at New Mexico State University is to serve the people of New Mexico through education, research, extension education, and public service with specific emphasis on innovative practices, overcoming barriers to learning, international activities, technology, and literacy for the diverse populations of New Mexico, surrounding states and border communities.

The College of Education develops, implements, monitors and assesses programs designed to prepare professionals who will work in school and clinical settings. In collaboration with it academic and community partners, the unit articulates and evaluates candidates' competence in content mastery, skill development, reflective practice, respect for diversity, and the integration of technology.

    Undergraduate Students



    Mission


    Aid students in understanding the nature of higher education and develop their academic abilities, interests, and career goals. Student centered environment
    Serve our student body to enhance their knowledge of the college of Education and NMSU.
    Inform students of university policies, procedures, resources and programs.
    Scholarly approach to teacher education preparation.
    Teamwork between students, faculty and staff.

    The Undergraduate Advisement Center of the College of Education is responsible for advising all undergraduate students except Physical Education and Athletic Training majors. These two major are advised by their respective departments.
    The Undergraduate Advisement Center is located in O'Donnell Hall, room 101, and is open Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm when the university is in session. Please call to make an appointment (646-3404). During peak registration time "walk-in" advising is available 9:00am-11:30am, and 1:30pm-4:30pm. However new transfer students to NMSU will always require an appointment. The Undergraduate Advisement Center is staffed with three full-time academic advisors and two full-time support staff members to assist students.
