   About No Address

No Address, originally from Tallahassee, Florida, left their hometown in January 2005 to tour in support of their major label debut, Time Doesn’t Notice. Their single, “When I’m Gone (Sadie)” climbed to the top of the rock charts and they shared the stage with bands such as 3 Doors Down, Staind, Shinedown and Breaking Benjamin. It was during this time that No Address broke on to the international scene, touring through the United States and Canada and saw their music reach audiences they’d never imagined. “When I’m Gone” was now being played world wide—from Sweden to Australia and from Germany to Iceland. Then the tour ended. They left their label. The long shadow of their incredible experience—all the fans they’d met, places they’d seen and dreams come true—were suddenly behind them.

And true to their name, the band never went home to Tallahassee. Instead, each member opted to disappear across the United States. To San Francisco, Miami, Orlando, Asheville, and Jacksonville. It wasn’t the wisest decision for their career—they knew that. It hardly made sense to break away from all they’d built together over years of work. Yet, death is essential for reinvention, so after the last show of the Time Doesn’t Notice tour, No Address went separate ways, on separate planes, not knowing if they would every play another note or write another song together again.

This new path led each member to a different place. For a time, Randy played drums for esteemed guitarist Pat Travers. Justin worked as a studio technician in San Francisco. Bill went back to school in North Carolina. Phil became a teacher and recorded bands in his home studio. And Ben disappeared into teaching and writing while working on material for his own record. Meanwhile, the desire for No Address to make music again began to surface in each band member.

Then in 2008, when recording started on Ben’s solo record, there was no other choice. Randy had to play drums. Bill had to play bass. Phil and Justin had to play guitar. And Ben’s record, when completed, wasn’t a No Address album, but it marked the re-birth of the band doing they love—making music together.

Quietly, No Address is in the studio right now writing a new album of material for the first time in 3 years. There’s no label. No A & R guy or Producer. No stage or lights. No glory or awards. No more stylists or assistants and no promises. All that’s left for them is the music. While much has changed for No Address since Time Doesn’t Notice was released, much has remained the same: the music still speaks for itself.

I am so glad to see that you all are back together. I had the pleasure of seeing you all live several years ago in Charlotte, NC and have been a fan ever since. I had written the band off as 'no more' so I am beyond thrilled to see that you are back! Yay!!!!

are you fucking kidding me? wow, a month ago, I moved into downtown Orlando. I cleaned out my storage unit. I found 20-30 New Address stickers which made me want the music. Found my CD and thought to myself "what ever happened to these guys". I use to sticker the entire state with your stickers, and sport the babydoll T, which I still have, but its got a couple bleach stains (my bad). I used to go to as many shows as I could make. Now, here you are, requesting me as a friend. I don't expect you to remember me Ben, it's been almost 6 years. Lasting Words, still is a lasting fav. Looking forward to hearing what you've got now! xoxoxoxox

I saw you guys, twice in Orlando, and you were nothing short of AMAZING and DOWN TO EARTH! Two things I couldn't say for the "headliners" of which I won't mention. *cough*Crossfade/Shinedown

(and The night Justin got into a car accident and Phil played all but two songs by himself... Someone else and Seether?)

Whoops.

Anyhow, as I said, nothing short of amazing, and I can't wait to hear new material, and SEE YOU LIVE AGAIN!!!
