8Then the word
of the LORD came to Zechariah saying,
9"Thus has the
LORD of hosts said, 'Dispense true justice and practice kindness and
compassion each to his brother;
10and do not
oppress the widow or the orphan, the stranger or the poor; and do not
devise evil in your hearts against one another.'
11"But they
refused to pay attention and turned a stubborn shoulder and stopped
their ears from hearing.
12"They made
their hearts like flint so that they could not hear the law and the
words which the LORD of hosts had sent by His Spirit through the former
prophets; therefore great wrath came from the LORD of hosts."
Zechariah 8:16-17
16'These
are the things which you should do: speak the truth to one
another; judge with truth and judgment for peace in
your gates.
17'Also
let none of you devise evil in your heart against another, and
do not love perjury; for all these are what I hate,' declares
the LORD."
The
God of the Old Testament is the same God of the New Testament.
The confinement of the New Testament to "Love" is why so many
think the New and Old Testaments differ. Jesus speaks of Hell
more than heaven, but God wants no one to perish. He is
warning us that if we do not turn to Him and repent, we will go to
Hell. The reason is that God hates our sin. See
Zechariah 8:17. We are His creation. Like it or
not, the things we do not only affect other people, but they affect God
and the host of Heaven. God doesn't want His creation going
around full of wickedness. If you are a parent I doubt you
jump for joy when your child disobeys you. The ten
commandments are for our own good. But who can say he/she
follows them? Who has never lusted? Who has never
lied? Who has never coveted? Jesus is the only
thing that stands between you and God. John 14:6:
Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the
life; no one comes to the Father but through Me."
ok, so I'm a little late getting back to you and I have no excuse so I won't make one up.... Semester went well. I ended up getting two A's, which I worked hard for and am proud of. For now, not really doing much, hoping to get up to Maine for a bit this summer to visit family but other than the usual appointments, cleaning house and doing laundry everyday, I'm just being a bum. It's boring as heck!!! You need to move to NY so you can amuse me more often... hop to it mister! :)

Hey Noah, my semester went pretty well. I'm DEFINITELY glad finals are over and we're onto the summer lol. How did your semester go? Tutoring has been going well but the amount of students is dwindling down because of the end of the school year. This Tuesday will be the last day of this year :P Hope you're doing well!

Ok, so about the virus program convo we had last night. I spoke with my computer teacher and he's pretty clueless as to what is happening to and said my best bet would be to bring it into the school's tech lab and let them look at it. But everything he suggested I do, you already told me to do-aren't you a smart cookie!!!! So, thanks for trying to help but I'm still stuck... :( I'll let you know when I figure anything out.
