Noah Sugarman hails from the great state of Kentucky where he studied jazz and classical guitar, as well as bluegrass, which is instilled in musicians from that region at a very young age. After 13 years of writing and performing 25 year old Noah Sugarman has created a genre trancending style all to it's own. With melody heavy lyrics from a big rythm and blues voice touching on deep subject matter, rythmic finger picking and beats that keep you guessing. Noah Sugarman's recordings and live shows are truly a sight to hear and see.

so he has earned the right to drum ancient urges he says it’s his mating call: his tired feet wearing a path through his backyard playing a talking drum (naked) the girl next door used to listen to his band practice in his parent’s basement but now he is wooing her and phoning friends to forget the lifeline that drops anchor in his cereal bowl every morning
unspeakable dreams are nothing new although this time they are different conjured by a mind that tells kids not to do real drugs
this is kentucky y’all we develop habits before driver’s licenses spend adulthoods under the blanket of adolescence where jacks are wild and throats hold damp promises southern nostalgia settles like dust on possibilities hanging over small heads there is no future to breathe when high school is the only prison you’ll never set foot in and summer just means you can work longer hours without being called truant bluegrass leaks like whiskey out the pores of children
so sometimes instead of mating calls for next door neighbors we play talking drums for every kid who hears rhythm pounding the universe so hard the stars are dancing and maybe you can’t see them but they are two-stepping their way to heaven...
so i'm going to do some research into talking drums and bring it full circle to their history. thanks for such a fabulous idea, hope you weren't planning on writing about it.
